Do you know how many people have guns in the US? The government would be very outnumbered IMO.

+10 Good research and point...According to the U.S. DOJ, there are approximately 675,000 sworn law enforcement officers serving nationwide. According to the DoD, there are a little more than 1.4 million persons serving on active duty, approximately 850,000 in reserves, and about 58,000 national guardsmen. That gives us an approximate total of 2.9 million "troops" that could potentially be applied to a martial law scenario.
There are approximately 80 million gun owners in the U.S., and an approximate total of 240 million guns.
Congress tells us they don't have the resources to track down an estimated 20 million illegal immigrants. If they can't do that - how the hell do they think they can locate 240 million guns, along with their 80 million owners?
You are absolutely right. Democrats they are not. The Democratic Party, the real Democratic Party, actually stands for something. What I'm not sure, but it certainly is not re-distribution of wealth and socialism. Now to answer the OP's question, I would quit my job. I would quit contributing to these bastards and join and commune. That or I would go smoke pot on an Indian Reservation for the rest of my life.If the 2A were repealed... then they'd haf't repeal the 10A also and write a new Amendment to that effect and adopt it.The writin' would be on the wall to "institute new government". 'Hope that never happens... but it COULD. I believe that could trigger a miltary coup to defend the Constitution... and overthrow these Marxists, Communists, Socialists 'n their Quisling posers calling themselves Democrats. Democrats they're not.
Don't forget Kentucky!Trust me, Texas or the Swiss...they're really the only options.
The options, as I see it: Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, and maybe Colorado.
Excellent! Exactly the point I was getting ready to make when I got to your post. I have read in some articles lately that with the rise in gun purchases in the last few years that the prior estimate of 80 million gun owners and 240 million guns is low and now it is closer to 85 million gun owners and 260 million privately owned firearms. Unfortunately, I don't have a cite as to where I have read that but it has been in more than one source. Perhaps someone else has seen similar estimates and has a reference to cite.According to the U.S. DOJ, there are approximately 675,000 sworn law enforcement officers serving nationwide. Conventional military wisdom is that a land war against China is a bad idea because we are outnumbered 4 to 1 in total population and about 1.5-2 to 1 in standing military including reserves. Compare that to the US military and LE vs American gun owners at 26-28 to 1. It would take a very stupid, very out of touch president and congress (think Obama, Pelosi and Reid ) to think that those are anything resembling good odds to attempt to force the will of a constitution violating executive and legislative branch against nearly 1/3 of the population especially with the risk that it could lead to open, armed rebellion of the citizenry.
As much as I expect Obama, Pelosi and Reid to try a AWB type ban, I do not expect that they would try a gun grab, total ban or do so without a grandfather clause. I think they are smart enough politicians (although very stupid in most other ways) to understand that such an attempt not only carries inherent dangers with potentially nation altering consequences, but that it is a recipe for their losing all power. And if Obama, Pelosi and Reid are about anything it is amassing and maintaining political power.

Depending on what statistics you read:
there are 250 - 280 million firearms in the US
40 - 50% of US homes own a firearm, that's 120 - 150 million people

I of course forgot Swiss Cheese. But on your, moving to another state idea it shouldn't be Nevada but rather Texas. True, texas, as of yet doesnt allow OC but it is still the only state in the Union that is legally allowed to sucede from the US if it wants.
Huh? Texas lost their case for secession in the Supreme Court (Texas v. White) - SCOTUS ruled that secession is not a right for any state, even the former Republic of Texas (I don't agree with that decision in the slightest). If any state tried to secede, there's no way in hell the federal government would let it go without a fight.

But I thought it was part of their charter / contract to become a state that they retained the right to secede from the US at a time of their choosing if they should desire to do so.
If what you are saying is true, then the US Government is NOT honoring a binding contract with a State.
I disagree. I think it would be much easier to ban them outright through an internationaltreaty agreement. Much easier to sneak through..It wouldn't start with Gun ban.
1 huge tax on firearms and ammo
2 AWB it worked so well the first time and there wasn't much of a fight
3 After some national tragedy (maybe the assassination of a high ranking official) They would start a gun registration
4 ban pistols cant use those for hunting can you
5 Then comes the rifles and shotguns there would be an exemption for hunters that own property that you can hunt on
6 Then total ban
