Based on what I can verify to date (10/31/2008) and figuring a scoring system of Wins, Losses, and Ties(county acknowledges receipt but refuses to take action):

Lafayette County: Approved

Walworth County:

No action

see page 6 http://www.co.walworth.wi.us/County%20Board/Website/Agendas-Minutes/Executive/2008-2009/Minutes/Sept.%2015,%202008%20minutes.pdf

Clark County:

No Action

http://service.govdelivery.com/docs/WICLARK/WICLARK_4/WICLARK_4_20080918_en.pdf

We are now: 1 – 0 – 2

The good news: We haven't suffered a loss yet, but "ties" aren't wins either.

Dear County Board Representative:

I am writing this to you for two reasons. First, to inform you of the fact that Chairman ___________ has had the enclosed resolution since August of 2008 and second, to request you take action in support of those rights protected by Article 1, Section 25 of the Wisconsin State Constitution.

In August of 2008, Chairman ____________ was sent the resolution for consideration, and Lafayette County overwhelmingly approved the resolution on September 16, 2008, so there is no language in the resolution that would concern corporate council. I would also point out, that this is not about guns, but rather about affirming the citizens' constitutional rights. As this has not been discussed at the board or committee level, I am contacting you directly to ask:

Will you support and affirm the peoples constitutionally protected rights by supporting this resolution?

If you do not support the resolution I would appreciate a response as to your reasoning for not supporting Article 1, Section 25 of the Wisconsin State Constitution.

Thank you for your kind attention in this matter and I eagerly await your reply.

Sincerely,

<your name>
<your address>
<your phone>

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
WHEREAS, The County Board of ____________ County Wisconsin affirms that the people have the constitutionally protected right to keep and bear arms for security, defense, hunting, recreation, or any other lawful purpose.

WHEREAS, the concealed carry of firearms is prohibited by Wisconsin Statute 941.23.

BE IT RESOLVED, that open carry is not an unlawful means to exercise these rights, and that no one may restrict a citizen's lawful exercise of these constitutionally protected rights.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
We should send this to every representative on every board that hasn't acted on the resolution. Change the language a little for those that decided "no action" and ask them why. We should have a news release as well as letters to the editors asking why our county boards are sitting on the hands.

I for one will be sending this to my ENTIRE board, and every (paper, radio, TV) media organization in my area.

Here's an idea for those of you who want to DO something:

Contact your county board supervisors and re-submit the resolution.

http://opencarry.mywowbb.com/view_topic.php?id=17914&forum_id=57

Press them to act on it. If they refuse, catch them after a meeting, with video camera running, and ask them why you/me/we have no rights. Then post their answers on You-Tube.

The cost is almost non-existent and because you were asking a question about rights, and did so without a firearm, if they try to quash you that would be a violation of your first (1st) amendment rights.

Will you start by taking this first unarmed stand?
