I have been following a few message boards here lately and there seems to be a few prevailing themes:

People are buying AR's and stocking up on ammo

No one plans to be in public when the election results come in

There is talk about looting/rioting/chaos

What have you guys heard?

I've been hearing some of the same thing....BUT....it's coming from the same people who are always predicting looting/rioting/chos, not to mention dogs and cats sleeping together, real end of the world stuff.

Outside of two left wing moonbats, one a writer for a Philadelphia paper, the other living in Italy, who have both said there would be race riots and or a second (sic) Civil War if Obama does not win, I have not heard anything.

I'm more concerned with the long term implications if Obama wins and the Dems increase their numbers in the Senate. As has beendiscussedhere, ourSecond Amendment rights will be at a great risk.

As will our 1st Amendment rights, our property rights, our paychecks, investments, 401K, inheritances, our healthcare, energy prices, grocery prices, our job security, and the ownership of our children.

Just to name a few....

But if there IS a civil war....remember who has all the guns. ;) Not the granola antis.

I see the usual hysterical internet nonsense, a lot of it coming from neo-Nazis in their mother's basements/trailers.

I don't plan to do anything out of the ordinary, other than go vote before work.

I CCW every day.

If somebody threatens me with the immediate, credible use of unlawful deadly force, I'll do the same thing I'd do on any day. I'll shoot them until they cease to be a threat. It doesn't matter if they support Barrack Obama or Emo Phillips.

I'm not worried about "turmoil". I'm worried about a BATFE run amok under Obama if he gets elected.

I agree and I guess I shouldn't make light of the possibility, but Riots are a city problem so they aren't my problem. If there is an uprising, I'll have to go into Richmond and get my daughter out so she can go home.

There is a possibility that if the NAACP loses their case on Monday, and I think they will, and there are problems with the machines in the inner city, some uproar could happen. Certainly no civil war.

Now as rebfan stated, the long term effects of either party will be an issue and without getting into politics, I expect a great deal of domestic terrorism in the future. No matter which side wins, many things in our country are gone forever. We've hit the high water mark and headed down and there isn't anything that can be done but let it run it's cycle.

I hope you are right but I think you are wrong. If anyone has ever seen a liberal protest you would quickly realize the vile contempt these people have to not having the world revolve around their beliefs. They don't often end in arrests for nothing.

I also think that the media has done a good job at egging on something violent that is a creation of racism. I think this is what they really want.

All I know is if McCain wins anyone with a yardsign or bumper sticker may be smart to pull them after the election. :) At least until everything settles down and gets back to normal.

All true.

It is pretty scary that we have a candidate who denies being a socialist/Marxist, who has engaged in the very tactics that describe either type of those, this close to the White House.

We all know the MSM leans left, but they are not just bias this year, they are openly rooting for the guy. They are also doing his dirty work for him by going after members of the media who have the nerve to ask tough questions. I would think people who claim to love the 1st Amendment engage in tactics that endanger those rights.

Peter,

So true. If McCain wins, the left will be very pissed after close losses in 2000 and 2004. Add the fact the Obama is supposed to win because of the Polls, etc, the left will of course direct their anger toward the right, when they should direct it toward the media for getting it wrong once again.

I'm not usually a "tin hat" kind of guy, but I do agree that we will have issues whomever wins. The economy sucks, we have terrorists who want to test either candidate who wins. That is not a good recepie for smooth sailing.

Chicago will burn either way... that should make for some good tv.

+1

Win or loose, Chicago burns Tuesday night.

Prediction: it spreads like cancer. Win or loose.

Brother is a firefighter in DC and they have been put on notice, so take that for what it is worth.

I will be going to work, same as usual.

I will be travelling that night (and the next two days) having already voted early. I do plan to carry more than my usual travelling kit with me. I'm glad I'm driving!
