That article, while not exactly hysterical, is way over-blown.Excluding nuclear weapons,China simply has no significantmeans of projecting force and won't for some time to come. The author gives great significance to the two aircraft carriers that China possesses, and erroneously assumes that they are both operational. They clearly are not, although the Varyag may someday be.

As for the Melbourne, (and the article grossly overstates its size)not only is it not in service, but it's basically a slightly updated WW2 carrier!

Also, the authorclearly has no conception of the size, number, and capability of American aircraftcarriers compared to other countries' carriers. Of all the active aircraft carriers in the world, about half belong to America, and they are much bigger than the others.

How many cargo containers enter our ports from China every day? How many of them are inspected?

The biggest threat to US peace does not come from the middle east. The biggest threat comes from China. China enjoys it's rewards with the US's Favored Nation Trade Status. This means simply that trade and commerce between the US and China is an open door. Billions of dollars pour into China's reserves through the US's gluttony of cheap Chinese made sundries of the types sold in stores such as Wal-Mart, Kmart and the like. Regardless of US consumer spending habits, the fact is the fact: China is making most of it's money from the US because if it's trade status. To learn more regarding China's trade status, read here. I'll continue.

If you don't want retailers to import from countries like China, stop electing politicians that think you can tax and regulate your way to prosperity.

The people that cry about trade with China and outsourcing/importing in general would also be the first ones to cry when they saw massive cost increases in nearly everything they buy, ifit was made here.

    Read this, really hard: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparative_advantage

And, also, why would China want to destroy us if we're their biggest source of income? Make up your mind, maybe? The author of that article is a self-contradicting dumbass.
