Obama wins. How do you feel about President Obama?

I have been worried over the last two weeks because every channel that I turned to had Obama's attack ads and I only saw 2 McCain advertisements. I know Obama raised more money than McCain so perhaps that is why. So, I was worried that he might win.

Well, he did. I'm having trouble understanding how I feel. I think I'm in shock. I know our guns, and rights, won't be gone tomorrow but they will be gone someday. Democrats won more seats in congress than republicans, the last I heard. So with a democratic congress and his appointing new supreme court justices over time, it will happen.

I feel like I should be doing something, but I don't know what. More guns, more ammunition? Bows and arrows? I also wonder what this will do for racial situations. There are groups that will be not only outraged but, I think, will take action of some kind.

How are you feeling about all of this?

Right now? I'm bummed that McCain lost, but not surprised. BHO speaks extremely well and I truly believe he could sell air conditioners to eskimos.

Currently I really don't think there's much we can do except wait and see what happens. Our voices have been silenced by those who prefer "Change". I'm sure there will be other avenues we may approach, but they are far and few between.

The Republican in the publics view have ruined their own party. It looks like an Independant will have to come and regain control.

I do have a questions though.

I heard that Obama won the presidency, but the Dems. DID NOT win the 60 seats ?

What does this mean ?


AND

If the Assualt weapons Ban will also ban the 5.56 ammo that AR15 use, what good would it do to hurry and buy a AR15 ?
(Would it also be wise to just purchase a Stripped lower reciever ?

(WIll the parts be banned too ?)

My feelings on President Obama, while negative, will not change my respect for the office. I respected it with Clinton and Bush despite any disagreement with them.

My biggest shock and disappointment was in talking to people who had absolutely no clue what they were talking about. These are educated, intelligent people. They are so blinded by their hatred for Bush and their willful lack of knowledge on recent history on any number of topics. Did you know that G. W. Bush personally is responsible for the current financial crisis? Shocked and amazed, I was. And they had no interest in seeing the actual events that led to this. Just one example. Of course there was the "I don't need to see anything from Fixed|Faux|Fox News" when infact this was basically unedited footage from congressional hearings. Okay off topic, thanks for letting me vent.

I don't like the man, I don't like his politics, but damn, can he orate...probably one of the best political speakers I've ever heard. He may be the "bad guy", but his words are sweet poison.

I watched the speech. I liked the speech. But he's made a lot of other speeches like the ones where he calls for a national ban on concealed permits, a national ban on "assault weapons", and supreme court justices who will rule based on social justice instead of the constitution. Basically, your response confirms my concern that "partisanship and pettiness" will be the new PC term for dissent.

Jimmy Carter was a horrible president, he paved the way for Ronald Reagan.

I see the same opportunity for Obama to be such a lousy president that he drives the American people to vote for a good candidate, if we can put one into the next race.

Glen Beck this morning said that this next administration needs to be careful how far to the left they pull the pendulum...it always swings justs as far in the other direction when they are forced to let go.

It was bound to happen one day...though I wish I was either long dead and buried or had the financial empire to move to switzerland...but it happend...the left found the Liberal equivalent to Ronald Reagan.

Barack Obama is to lefties as Ronald Reagan was too the right. A good speaker who holds the values and can speak his way into convincing the other sides moderates to jump on board. Of course being a gun toting libertarian who believes in capitalism and small government of course I prefer the former to the present.

Most liberal issues I am quasi ambivilent to. Gay marriage? Don't force the church but if they want civil unions fine. Abortion? I respect the right to choose but not the right to procrastinate so if they abort it needs to be before the fetus has a heartbeat. Alternative energy? Sounds good but lets not forget about fossil fuels on our way and make everyone suffer. Foreign policy? Im a supporter of the Monroe doctrine, but will be damned if I want the UN to dictate how the US should run.

After that they get a little too socialistic, with crippling progressive taxes, universal heathcare and welfare and the general redistribution of wealth.

But under it all...my firewall of whether I even want to be an American is the 2nd Amendments god given right to keep and bear arms. I pray that their are enough gun toting moderate dems in the Congress that have the balls to stand up to their party and their president when it comes to gun control bills, gun confiscation bills, and gun grabbing judicial appointments.

But being an optimistic man I will leave you with this thought. If John McCain were to have won and he could not have changed the economy quickly and the dem. congress stymied him at every chance in four years the dems would have gotten the White House AND the super majority in the Senate. Now, Obama has the power and the position to enact his economic crippling plans to bankcrupt coal, tax investors, and take us from a mini recession to a mini depression. 2 years we will have to put up with his leftist universal big brother government. The country will most likely fall into dispair, people will forget about how bad G-dubya was and the republican party (the libertarian wing of it hopefully) will be able to storm back into power. Not only is their precedent for this but its not more than 14 years in the past.

1994 with emerge again in 2010. At the very least they congress can force Obama to govern from the center like they did with Clinton.

Very true Decoligny. Hmmmm...for any of you interested...2010 may be the best time to run for congress. Obama will push for gun confiscation and when the pendulum swings back you all can push for gun requirements...as in...every household is REQUIRED to have one.

Do not despair friends...with 60 senators Obama is still limited by the power of the filibuster...there is only so much he can screw up. We must be vigilant and set the ground work in order to curtail his socialist agenda in 2010

Finally someone else is bringing this up.

This is why the Election isn't so painful. We're down, but not out. And you can bet that those 60 are pissed at what happend to their repub brothers, if they see a Gun policy come across they'll stall it until they can get the back-up they need to destroy it.

2010 will be the most important year in Obama's reign, for us Gun owners.
