(I knew that headline would get attention!)
I'm thinking of new federal legislation, and since our state's senators are
1) so concerned with gun safety,
2) realize (hopefully) that stolen guns are the most common source for criminals,
3) understand that property crime will increase as the economy tanks (but of course "The One" will save us from economic collapse),
Here's the idea: a tax credit for all new purchases of gun safes. Straight off the top, not a deduction. What better motivation to get people to lock up guns not in use (and other valuable stuff).
What do you think? Would it fly?
