I'm looking for something new to buy. If you had about $1,500 - $3,000 to spend what would you purchase? please post links as to where to buy or picture of what to buy.

I'm thinking more of along the lines an assault type style riffle

If you can spend about 500 bucks more you can get one of the finest and most accurate rifles being made today.

http://www.tacticaloperations.com/cover4.html

Rifles range between just under 3k to 5k, but they are a complete package: scope, base, rings, pelican case, and assorted other bits depending on which model. Plus a 1/4 MOA guarantee with factory match ammo, which is unbeatable in the industry.

You could buy me some more ammo.

12 gauge, 9x19, .40 S&W, .45 ACP, .22 LR, 7.62x54R, any of those will do....

It's um.... my birthday, yeah, that's it! I've been a good boy this year, and I'd like an upper and a chrome-coated barrel for my AR-15 lower, Santa! :D

Go class 3:

A little higher than your range specified but:

There's a few more subguns listed that are very close to the upper end of your price range. Everything is negotiable.

Benefits: Zero poseur value whatsoever. Assault "style" rifles are a dime a dozen, but full auto subguns aren't. Very fun to shoot, and very challenging. Easy to work on and clean, lots of customization potential.

drawbacks: Extra paperwork involved both in acquisition and possession. Expensive to feed based on how much you shoot it. Draws extra attention at the range.

YMMV, but it's addictive - kind of like eating potato chips - you can't have just one

SOCOM 16 standard stock, no need for a 2 pound rail like on the SOCOM II and 10 mags.

I just bought one right before my recent, tragic boating accident...

A T-76 LongBow by Dakota Arms--except it costs about $4200.

For about $3000 you could buy a 6.8mm by Barrett Arms, or an Ak and a whole lot of 7.62 ammo.
