I stopped by Office Max in Newport News this evening to get my CCW permit laminated and the girl behind the counter remarked that she was surprised to see so many of them and hadn't realized that so many people had them. I told her that she'd be surprised at how many are out there that she never sees and that I felt safer with more out there. She said she's never been interested in guns but understood that some people just like them.
She never saw mine nor inquired as to whether or not I was carrying but she seemed comfortable in any event. I don't know about the other employees there but they were never a party to our conversation.
