Price of new Springfield XD-9

Hi,

Looking to pick up a new springfield xd9 for my son for Christmas. I have seen prices between $399 to $599. What is a good price that I should expect to pay? Is there any difference in invoice price for the bi-tone (stainless slide on black) or green frame w/ black slide?

I bought mine new for $495, but that's from a friend that owns a gun store. Looking at gunbroker.com they're ranging from $425 used to $599 NIB, reserve price for that one is $619 (buy now) but to me he's a little high on it.
