I didn't get any looks or comments when I was in Target. Everyone was busy looking for super deals that were left over from Friday.

Went to Cicis near Cary Town Center Mall after that. Everyone greeted me nicely, and only one employee even looked at my hip. He took notice but never said anything.

My friends I went with aren't used to me carrying and a few asked why.
My answer had two parts.
1. Why not?
2. Do you wear a seat belt?.....

No other questions were asked.
Overall, a very good experience.

I've been OC'ing in Cary for quite a while. I had my first negative experience in Morrisville this weekend. I was shopping with my wife (yes, I was fortunate enough to experience Black Friday...ughhh...Note the sarcasm) at Saks. We had been in the store for at least an hour, or more. After she finally loaded her arms full, and made it to the long line to check out, I noticed a manly looking female security guard heading in our direction.

She walked up to me and said "You can't have that in here!"
I said "Have what in here?"
She said "A gun."
I said "Why not?"
She said "We dont allow them in here."
I said "Oh, sorry I didn't see a sign prohibiting them"
She said "Well, you can't have them in here. If you would like to remove it and secure it in your car, you can come back and finish your shopping."
I laughed and said "Nah, we'll just leave." It's important to note that we had several hundred dollars worth of items in our hands.
She said "Well, you can come back and finish your purchase."
I politely said "No thanks," and dropped everything we had in our arms on a table, and walked out. I dont think she was expecting that.

I'll be writing a letter to the senior management as soon as I get some time explaining the situation, and informing them that they'll be losing a few good customers who spend a lot of money in their store. My wife and her girlfriend shop there a lot, probably spending well over $1000/month between them. Once I write the letter I'll post it in here, with the contact person's info. I find it hard to believe that a retailer would want to turn customers away in an economy like this, but then again, if it's their policy, there's really nothing that can be done.

I probably should've questioned her a little more. I'm not sure if she was a Saks security guard or mall security. It had already been a long stressful day, so I didn't want to continue to push the issue and get pissed off.

As we left the building, I looked again for signs prohibiting firearms, and there was nothing posted...

If you were at the Outlet Mall in Morrisville, I'm 99% sure the entrance at the food court is posted no weapons. I saw it once a few years ago and decided I'd rather not spend any money there and haven't returned.

Whether or not a single sign on a single mall entrance constitutes "legally posted" under the law, I'd rather not argue. I choose to spend my hard-earned funds in places where management doesn't post ANY signs.

I was at the mall in Morrisville, and we entered on the right side of the mall at the Saks entrance, which had NO signs. My wife and I double checked when we left. There was nothing posted...I'm very conscientious to check the entrance of EVERY establishment I enter when carrying a firearm.

What I thought was interesting, is that I was there for a PAINSTAKING hour or more, while passing numerous employees and patrons. I guess there's always one a** in the crowd that has to complain...Oh well, it only ='s lost revenue for them!
