I am currently in a debate with my cousin over gun control and I would like a little bit of help from the gun community at large.

The topic can be had at my blog, link here:

Some background to the debate can be had here...

The argument has morphed too much for me to handle alone and I would like to hear some opinions from the larger gun community. Thanks guys!

There is no debate. Why argue about it? Some people choose a dangerous andrisky lifestyle. Some don't.

It is better to be prepared and armed, than hope or believe, that bad things will never happen to you. Does anyone really believe police only need billy clubs? Of course not.

If people want to require others to protect them (LEO's) and not plan or figure on their own self-reliance and preservation. This is an immoral and ignorant way to live. It is sheepish and cowardly.

Your cousin had some good uninformed questions. It looks like you straightened them out pretty well.

2nd on that 8 year-old's case and implication. The media turned that accident incident into a murder-spree case before the court could smell it's manilla folder.
