The city council last night passed the first reading of the long awaited rewrite of its firearms control bill. It contains among other things a ban on so-called assault weapons. It appears the Brady folks essentially wrote this bill. I am attaching a copy for everyone's information. They will vote on final passage later this month I am told.

Holy carp!...It's the AWB all over again...to include banning the evil .50BMG round, and the idiotic microstamping provision. :banghead:

So who is going to throw a BS flag on this? Do they not yet understand this will NOT prevent anything? "...shall not be infringed."...sounds familiar. I see nothing but infringements on this POS legislation.

After reading a portion of that bill I realize yet again how totally INEPT and utterly ignorant and stupid politicians are.

I would absolutely NEVER spend a day in the district of columbia, let alone live there--I would rather live in China than in D.C.

Well only one good line in the whole bill....

"private persons may prohibit or restrict the possession of firearms on their
property;"

This says to me I can tell the gun grabbing police they can't touch the gun when it
is on my property, and there is nothing they can do about it, except arrest themseves.

I think SlackwareRobert is suggesting that he may prohibit the police from possessing their firearms on his property. Or maybe, thathe may prohibit police frompossession ofhis firearm on his property.

The DC council and company still believe that banning guns reduces crime. They always have and always will. Hell will freeze over before you see all of the Bill or Rights respected there. Pass an anti gun bill and you saved the world and accomplished something magical. Hey, lets ban war zones too. I avoid socialist occupied DC as much as possible, where the good citizens are denied the right to self defense.
