Loudoun County, Virginia- The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery that occurred Tuesday night in the CountrySide area of Sterling.

The victim, a 30-year-old Maryland man, was walking in the 120 block of Edds Lane shortly before 10 p.m. when he was approached by an unknown subject. The subject brandished a firearm and demanded money. The subject then fled on foot.

The subject was wearing a dark sweater, a black cap and blue jeans. He had a thin build and was approximately 5’7” tall. The area was searched with the assistance of a Sheriff’s K-9 unit. No subject meeting the provided description was located.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division at 703-777-0475. If the caller wishes to remain anonymous they are asked to call Loudoun Crime Solvers at 703-777-1919. If the information leads to an arrest and indictment the caller could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1000.

Loudoun County, Virginia- Two men have been charged with second-degree in a Sterling, VA shooting that took the life of a 19-year-old man.

Guillermo A. Alvarado, 20, of Berryville, VA and Rasheed L. Nurse, 26, of Herndon, VA, are currently being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center without bond. Both were charged with Second Degree Murder, in Violation of Virginia State Code Section 18.32.

The incident occurred after Alvarado and the victim, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, became involved in an argument at a residence on Tappahannock Place in the Lowes Island community of Sterling, VA. Alvarado and the victim went outside where the victim allegedly became involved in an altercation with the two men. Nurse allegedly brandished a firearm and the victim suffered a fatal gunshot wound.

The three were all attending a house party on Tappahannock Place where the altercation ensued. The circumstances regarding the dispute that led to the shooting remain under investigation.

My wakeup call was in September 2000 when Naquan Perry murdered Eric VanNederynen on Countryside Blvd. If some hood from New Jersey (no, not you, Hank) can come to Virginia and murder an innocent 15-year-old boy just walking home from work, one has to be prepared for just about anything.

Four men were walking in the 60 block of Sugarland Run Drive around 2:40 p.m. when they were approached by three unknown suspects. One of the suspects demanded money and lifted his shirt to display a possibly firearm in his waistband.

All three suspects were described as Black males. One suspect is described as being 6’ tall, 170 pounds, and was last seen wearing a white shirt and blue pants.

If the caller wishes to remain anonymous they are asked to call Loudoun County Crime Solvers at 703-777-1919.
