Saw this a few months ago... Still have some big problems with it.

One shot of 9mm... You better hope you get it right.

The size of the grip... That bulbous oval isn't going to fit very well in most pockets, and if it does, it probably isn't going to come out smoothly.

Accuracy. Out side of pushing that thing against someones chest, there is no way to precisely aim this firearm. No sights. Can't look down the top of the barrel.

$300 bucks... Come on. Way too much for what the product consistsof.

For the intended purpose - self-defense at near-contact range by an elderly person - it looks pretty well designed. I do agree that drawing it might present problems, though.

Of course as a Medicare approved medical device, with a doctor's prescription, it should only costabout $15.00.
Hell I would pay 50 bucks for one just for the curious factor... But I still think you have better choices for defense than this, especially at the 300 price...

FDA nixes proposed ‘prescription pistol’

<snip>
WASHINGTON - It could have been the world's first prescription pistol. The single-bullet Palm Pistol set the Internet abuzz with speculation that Medicare might even pay for the elderly and disabled to pack heat.
But on Monday the Food and Drug Administration said the Palm Pistol doesn't have a shot of being listed as a medical device, and revoked the registration issued to its inventor only last week.
"The FDA has determined the product is not a medical device," the agency said in a statement.
