When I lived in Florida a senile neighbor walked into a home that had the garage door open and into the house. There have been family members shot mistakenly at night. Be sure of your target! If you raise the muzzle on someone don't pull the trigger witout giving him a warning to leave or get on the ground, UNLESS that person leads you to believe he is going to harm you. Examples: He has a weapon, he keeps advancing, or he is threatening you. When I stayed in Miami in 1988 I rented a motel room on Tamiami Trail. I took a shower and as I was coming out someone was coming in through the door. Just a non-descript looking guy. I drew my HK-P7 and ordered him out of the room. Within minutes the desk callled to apoloigise. They double rented the room. If I had fired regardless of how justified under Florida Law, an innocent man would be dead. Think before you act! Don't take risks, but if the person complies and does not threaten don't just pull the trigger b/c the law says you can. You may have to live with a mistake for the rest of your life! You will have to sell your house unless you want to walk by the place where you shot a man every day. If it is a felon you may have retaliation especially if it isa gang banger. Try to get compliance first before using deadly force if SAFE to do so!
