Nobody that knows you would make such an association. :what:

Drive-by hit post! Drive-by hit post! I checked! Its his only post in the last two days! :)

Actually, I was more worried about:"...he smothers the opposition with his ponderous and lengthy cogitations." Although, I can see where it is applicable. I do getponderous and lengthy sometimes.

But I'm not: "Somewhat humorless and aloof,..."

So, there!

I can accept that. I'd like to think that the 'pithy phrases' are potentially sound-bites with their citation/attribution built-in, for the literate at least.

I do have a well-thumbed 'Bartlett's' and with a goodly number of its sources. I still read - a lot and my lower-class college experience was a forerunner of 'The Great Books' programs.

Apropos, I cannot recommend too highly Charles Murray's Real Education

I call foul. You are NOT allowed to raise the level of discourse in this thread by citing sources for quotations, OR pointing out that you have an education. If you are claiming an education I am going to pull a "Citizen" on you and demand a link to the proof. According to the "Brady bunch" fact sheets, you cannot be educated and be a gun owner, they are mutually exclusive attributes.
