SHOES FOR THE PRESIDENT

According to the Washington Post, the guy who threw his shoes at President Bush is a "hero". This gives me an idea.

Now note carefully that I am NOT ADVOCATING throwing ANYTHING at Obama or anyone else, shoes or certainly not kisses. But what was done to Bush was the gravest of insults in that part of the world. SO:

Just wait until Obama does some boneheaded thing to abrogate the RTKBA. (won't have to wait long). Then we organize a rally and as part of it go to the White House wearing the oldest, rottenest, stinky sneakers we have, and pile them up along the fence, SOLES FACING THE SOUTH PORTICO. (brig along a good pair i a knapsack).

By the way I had an Ubamanista in the cab last night. Here's their latest idea: Require firearms owners to have insurance, which will impose prohibitive costs on private gun ownership. He was really quite pleased with himself. Almost gave THAT one a shoe where the sun don't shine, but I need my hack permit.

I am almost sure the original poster is speaking of liability insurance.

Exactly. The plan would be torquire insurance coverage for ANY harm wrought by ANY discharge of ANY firearm ANYWHERE. And can't you just see it being extended to gun MANUFACTURERS?? The rates would doubtless drive them out of business.

The rates would probably not drive them out of business, the manufacturerswould simply increase or double the suggested retail price on firearms they manufacture. It would be interesting if they could survive after this price increase though. It sure would slow my handgun and rifles purchases downquite a bit.

If such a thing did come down the pike, I wouldn't be surprised to see people paying more for firearm insurance than they currently pay for automobile insurance.

I think it is important to remember that we are dealing with a nest of snakes here. Insurance, taxes, mandatory registration are just a few things that may be in the pipeline.

Remember that when Bush issued an executive order he was a "dictator"; but when Clinton did it they said: "Stroke of a pen, law of the land. Kind of cool". The National Socialists (Read hard Left dems, not the whole lot) have a huge presence in the Reichstag and the Chancellory to boot.

But the boneheads are sowing the seeds of their own undoing. Obama has nominated a Secretary of Energy who advocates EIGHT BUCKS A GALLON for gasoline. Yeah, that'll resonate. There ARE conservative Democrats who want to hold onto their seats and will oppose the leadership especially if the opposition is loud enough.

Reid, Pelosi, Conyers, Schumer - God, how I detest Schumer, he is the absolute scum of the earth - Waters and their ilk see the dawning of a one-party state which is what they mean by the "post-partisan" era. Our President-to-be Obama is a blithering fool and a pawn to do their bidding. These people fight dirty while the Republicans play by Queensbury rules. They are a threat not only to firearms owners but to every freedom we enjoy. They would codify every move we make right down to what we eat for dinner, and remember they already HAVE our toilets.

They are a crafty bunch of lice and they know they will have to move rapidly and under the radar to accomplish what they want to do. They are domestic enemies of our Constitution, and if they are not routed in the next two years, I - I, who counsel calm and political activism and do not advocate violence; I who believes in our system of government as flawed as it is; I, who believes that force is an absolute last resort; - I fear that "THE DAY" may be less than two years away. I certainly hope this is not the case.

BUT a line from William Butler Yeats's "The Second Coming" haunts me:

"The best lack all conviction, while the worst are full of passionate intensity"

Don't hope for the best. work for the best. And prepare for the worst.

+1 Well said Alex. I already have 1 million in personal liability, because I USED to breed and train/sell/trade horses, but it covers ANY thing I do for which I may be liable. It comes with my Farm Bureau coverage, and it's like 20$ a year. I think you may be right about the day is close, and it sickens me, but,,,,aw hell I've been in more'n one combat zone.
Keep your powder dry!

I doubt seriously if this would suffice once the law and requirements are written and passed. And I suspect the Farm Bureauwould require an additional rider for firearms based on the new law and requirements. But, we're of course we're talking about something that hasn't even happened yet.

Sidestepping and speaking ofcurrent affairs now, Ioften wonder about my homeowner's insurance. If I accidentally discharge a firearm and it goes through a window and hits a bystander, I wonder if my Homeowner's policy covers me? I, like many other people, have ever even taken the time to sit down and read my Homeowner's policy. My bad!!!

"By the Rude Bridge that arched the Flood.

Their banners to April's Breeze unfurl'd;

There the Embattled Farmers Stood,

And fired the Shot Heard 'Round the World"

You know, folks, when and if - and I hope it is IF - "The Day" comes, it won't be a spontaneous national uprising. It will be an ACT OF RESISTANCE TO UNLAWFUL FIREARMS CONFISCATION just as the Stand at Concord Bridge was. Only this time it will not be a bunch of farmers at Concord Bridge, it will be some guy in apartment 210 at Concord Arms Apartments who decides to show what cold dead hands literally means.

On that day we will all have a choice. We also have a much preferable choice in State, Local, and Federal elections and we have telephones and email and faxes and the Post Office to bug our representatives with and also our voices and presence in our community to convince people with. Just as the Founders tried everything reasonable and put up with a lot of garbage before they were finally fed up, it behooves us to dlo everything peacably as far as is possible. At least until the 2012 elections we should leave the political avenue open. But the Redcoats could come marching to Concord Bridge before that, and force patriots to act. There is only one response that Liberty can have to Tyranny. SIC SEMPER TYRANNIS.
