Carry in banks?

I haven't found a Statute prohibiting it. And I've carried in my bank a few times now, after being a customer there for over 2 years. The banks can prohibit firearms if they choose to just like any other business.

There is no law against carry in banks. But as said, they can post a sign per T.C.A. 39-17-1359 and if they do, then it would be illegal.

Suntrust in Franklin had their mall cop escort me outside where he almost kindly asked me to leave it in the car, that it scares the other patrons...... I did only because my inlaws were with me and it was not the time or place to be going over the laws...:banghead:

You would be wasting your time anyway. They can legally ask you to leave for any reason. Tn Statute allows them to make policy concerning firearms. If the bank doesn't like OC, then CC.

If my bank asks me to leave because I carry--then I would immediately close my account and take my money with me--they need my money more than I need it in their bank....IMHO

IOC in the SunTrust branches in Smyrna and Murfreesboro fairly often. Granted, in Williamson County the 'beautiful people' get their tender sensibilities tweaked a lot easier. has anyone contacted SunTrust corporate for clarification?

Maybe Suntrust's beautiful people get tweaked, but I don't. Not all people in Williamson County are hoplophobes my friend. ;)

I know, I know... teasing...

But, the (very) few times I've OC'd in Brentwood I've gotten more looks and negative questions than around Rutherford county. I have no doubt that it would be much more accepted in the smaller towns around the county. Brentwood can seem to have a quality all its own. (heheh)

Respectfully,

Pol
