I apologize if this link has been discussed before. I did a search and didn't find anything.

Anyway, the link takes you to a number of PSA type clips by a Canadian teenager named Katey Montegue. It seems like her father ran afoul of Canada's draconian gun laws.

The clips make for interesting viewing, almost like a parallel universe! Enjoy!

I've seem these before. I'm not sure if they have been linked to the forum, though.

I love her "ditzy teen" routine with the rolling of the eyes, etc. It became a little monotonous as I watched several clips in succession, but they are really entertaining. Her points are well made.

I get the same routine, live, from my pre-teen daughter. And yes, it does get monotonous!

I pray that my daughters grow up to be like Katey. She's my hero. I hope things work out well in the end for her family. They've been through so much already.

So, as soon as my tax return comes in I'm buying an everyday carry gun. I'm going to name it Katey.

Hey, her family should be very proud of her... she is really smart, and it takes a lot of guts to do what she is doing. We all have to do what we can to protect our rights. Personally, I believe that every woman should be ready, willing and able to defend herself against any sort of threat, because there aren't always gonna be a man around to protect us from the bad guys, and we shouldn't have to depend on a man for protection anyway... No offense guys... but I won't apologize for my beliefs either.:quirky

Well it would at least get interesting, but I just don't think that many that know me would call me "ladylike"... LMAO. That's beside the point though.

Isn't much I respect more than a woman ready and willing to defend herself and me.

Most people I know are often aren't sure what to think about that, and some, mostly the guys, are often uncomfortable, but it's kinda funny... they just don't know what to think of me, but hey, that just means they don't get it right??????

My daughter is, and I'm not being predjudiced a very beautiful girl. Been told on numerous occasions she should have been a model. She's also very accurate, carries a Taurus 9MM. She was raised with and knows gun safety and will also not blink if it comes to her self defense. She tells other women, if you can't pull the trigger when the need becomes apparant don't carry the gun.

Sounds like a smart young woman, KansasMustang!! Indeed, this country needs more women like that around!!

My 7 year old girl seems nervous about guns, but my 5 year old daughter asks questions constantly. I guess both are reasons to keep them educated. I don't want the one to be afraid of guns, and I want the other to be safe and not think of a gun as an object of mystery.

My wife is afraid of guns but she is willing to go to the range with me. I hope in time she will be comfortable with the idea. I have shown her how to load and unload the revolver. And told her some of the range rules. She is smart and picks up on this stuff pretty easy. All in all I would say she is gonna do fine. I will of course try to always be there with her until she feels totally comfortable with it. I have yet to meet a lady that openly carries. Its too bad there aren't more. They are just as skilled and convincing with a gun as anyone else. I hope more wives and daughters pick them up and use them. They just may save your life.

It's also pretty naiveif women think that thatbeing with aman means being safe-- particularly against multiple armed attackers;though it might help deter criminalsfrom attacking in the first place, it also mightNOT.Alternatively if you'reBOTH armed, it will increase the benefit.

Ifmen should carry, it makes even MOREsense for women. Safety is 99% about knowledge, and this is just a fact that everyone should know.

It's a fact that men are attacked more oftenthan women, but this is because men buy into a false sense of security that women don't. However too many women allow a traditional fear of guns, stop them from also taking action.

I cannot belive the arrogance of these old white men in the federal government,my 98 pound 18 year old sister who was born in Va cannot buy a handgun in this so called land of the free??? Someone expline that one ,all things must change but when the 18-20 population is looked down upon because they are younger and cannot defend themselves what are they going to do against a 300 pound attacker on meth????????????
