lol, you are funny. she "allows" me to do my "crazy" gun thing. and knows better than to "not allow" me to do my "crazy" gun thing. lol. I married a city girl, and am still in the process of educating her regarding gun owners.
as an example of what I'm up against. when her dad split, he was loading his truck, and brought out a couple rifle cases from the basement, her ma just about @#$% a brick. apparently, in 25 years of marriage, he had not dared let her know he owned a .22 and a 20ga. my wife has accepted the fact that there will be guns in the house, and on my person. she has accepted the fact that as soon as my boy learns to mind, he will be learning to properly, and safely, operate each and every one of my firearms. and once the next one is weaned, she'll be taking her CPL course (for legal purposes, I don't think she'll ever be comfortable with the idea).
so, my marriage will last. and as far as my guns, that's a list that'll be via PM, or in person. I don't want that stuff on the interweb, then, the federales will know how many to look for when they're goin door to door.
am still in the process of educating her***************

My mother holds the deed, but because of her health I am theincharge of it.It is zoned residential/church and it is outside city limits. there are two ways in and out which are both two track rds. It boarders state land on the west and a river on the east. all the lots are 5 acres or better and no occuoied dwellings on the west where most of the land owners do most of their shooting. We will be in good company!
Not against it but can you say Woodstock .grass lake and heath law on human waste ?
shovel and woods provided but you will have to bring your own bio t-paper

If we do 4th of july, we won't needmusic or electricity, the motorcycle club on the other side ofriver always has live band w/generators, and great fire works. I know June is usually open houses & the 4th is usually planned with family, but if we wait to late in the summer the days & nights will be hot. There is shade but not alot, and no breeze at night. This campis not forgood china & cappacino machines...

If we are really trying for an open carry retreat of sorts, and not so much of an educational seminar thing, should we perhaps invite our OCDO neighbors to the south from Ohio and Indiana?

Each year in October, my family has a "reunion" camp in Lake Superior National Forest. One of the first orders of business is digging a hole around 4 or 5 feet deep, 20 to 24 inches around. We have a modified fishing shanty that sits over the hole, with an inverted 5 gallon pail inside. The bottom of the pail is cut out, and a toilet seat is attached to it. There is also a small bag of lime and a scoop. We have had 20+ people in camp for 9 or 10 days, and the conditions have never become unsatisfactory. I don't think we have much to worry about for a weekend camp.

ETA: I believe my Uncle has the setup. I'll see about borrowing it.

Just to reiterate on the location of the property&purpose of this meet. 1st the purpose is to get OC'ers together& help educate, & make theGrayling public aware of the law,& behavior of their local govt. 2nd to camp out in a location Cheap & large enough for all, close enough to town (Grayling), and to be able to shoot in a safe and FREE location.

The property is 5 acres of vacant land w/some woods, it is 3 miles n. of Frederic, 1 mile w of 27 on dirt, and approx. 1/4 mile off the dirt on a two track. There's no water, no elect,& no plumbing.A privatetwo track splits the land 1/2 acre on west side & 4 1/2 acres on the east. We will setcamp oneast plot, and shoot onwest side, towards the woods which is state land. There's no houses or buildings on that side, there is a swing set, fire pit, and horseshoe pit. Someneighbors also use that side of their lots as there property to shoot as there's is split by this two track.

Thereare power lines that wehike& ride atvs on, or you can use the trail head which is close by. This trail headallows for cars/trks on them as long as there registered& insured(no orv permitneeded).

On the east side I will have a community campfire pit and some canopies, you all should bring one if possible as shade gets a might scarce in these parts. It's flat and open. One way or another I will have a community outhouse. I have only 3 rules for this event i feel I must mention 1.Keep your wife in line, & take the pop away fromkidsif they start bouncing offwalls, 2. store yourfoodhigh or in a sealed cooler, & keep cite cleanthis aint flint, and there are black bear. and last but not least if you fly a flag it goes up in the morn, and comes down at dusk, there will be public lashings with a wet noodle for those who disrespect the flag.wearin& bearin it, & having fun are unwritten rules and considered common knowledge.

How big of a trailer can I get in there. I have a 26' trailer that could be usefull since I can carry lots of water, and has a bathroom.
We can get a 26 probably even a 30 foot trailer in there. The entrance is a little tight, but as long as your self contained, I see no problem. Your more than welcome
