This morning I wake up to change and feed my 5 mo. old daughter. While doing so, I discover that I'm using the last of the formula and the last diaper, so I quickly determine, following my cup of coffee, a trip to Wal-Mart is in order.
While at Wal-Mart I go and pick up diapers and formula. I venture from the baby section to the Sporting Good section to see if they have any rifle cases that will fit my 270 w/scope & bipod. They have none. I go look at the latest and greatest gadgets for my truck, none of which fit my muse. While on my way to checkout, I discover I am being followed by 3 store associates, all of them much bigger than my 5'6" frame. I decide that this is probably some BS so I take more time on my way to the front. I checked out the christmas clearance stuff and buy my wife a candle. I picked up some toilet bowl tablets on my way to the front of the store, then proceeded to self-checkout.
During my checkout process, I am approached by Steven Miller, an assistant manager. He says good morning, I cordially reply the same. He asks if I am a LEO. I told him I was not. It was at this time that he tells me that he needs me to remove my weapon (notice he said weapon and not firearm...I do believe there is a difference in the words) to my vehicle. I asked him if he could wait until my checkout process was done, because I would be leaving promptly thereafter as I had other stops to make this morning. He tells me that is fine. After my receipt prints, I ask him to write his name and position on the receipt so that when I call the regional headquarters, I have a name and position to reference. He responds with a please do. After writing his information, he escorts me to the door and thanks me for my cooperation. I smiled, said no problem, and proceeded to my truck. (I didn't feel like arguing and felt that my cooperation might make him look like an ass later).
I am now going to be on the phone with the numbers M1 left in NavyLT's thread to sort this out.
On my way home I OC'd AM/PM, Starbucks, & Home Depot with no incidents. This whole time, I had my 5 mo old daughter with me.
