First, let me introduce myself. To make it brief, I'm a senior in high school, for the most part a computer "geek," and recently have become very passionate about politics. I've always had an "argumentative" attitude, one that wanted to stick up for what I believed, and stand up and speak when there was something said I disagreed with(or agreed with, for that matter). However, in the past year or so, I've learneda lot more of what I should be believing and standing up for, and of course come election time, my fire grew exponentially. I promised myself the fire wouldn't die when the election was over, and that's what led me here. Trying to keep the fire alive, and trying to keep speaking and keep working.

Anyway, considering I'm still in highschool and all, I don't have just a ton of opportunity to donate to causes monetarily. Most of what I can do is talk to friends, even those in online communities. One of the ways to do this is through signatures and avatars. I looked around a little, but didn't see any. In case you don't know what they are, a signature is just the space after every post of yours, or every email, or whatever. Most places you can put whatever you want there, as long as it's within the rules, but a lot of people use it as sort of an adspace for causes they support or whatever. Generally they'll use small banner-like image to do so. It's like an internet billboard.

Anyway, I was working on one for myself, but had a few questions. First, I wanted to ask for permission to use images from this site in the sig that I'm making. I don't mean hotlinking them, I mean using/editing part of the images into the sig, and then hosting it. Second, has anyone else made them? And third, is there anything in particular you guys think would be good to include? Right now I'm just kind of throwing things together.

Nice job on the sig. I like it a lot. Although i think i would like it even more if the "Do it" were not in there. As for using the images from this site, that's something to take up with the owners/moderators as im sure you know that already.

Here is the same thing without the "do it's".

Feel free to use it if you want, but I wouldn't till I get permission to use the images. I'll probably make more later... That one I just threw together. Anyway, I'm sure I'll enjoy reading around the forums. Keep up the good work everyone.

Don't discredit your efforts, stealthyeliminator. You probably have more of the precious commodity we call "time" available to you than do many of us on the forum. Continue to educate yourself, continue to improve your writing skills, and then post...post...post. We need the energy of young enthusiasts such as yourself to make these things happen.

Speak with your peers, and let your views be known. Help your home state of Texas, and then help your fellow strugglers in their states, if only by long-distance through forums such as this.

Welcome to OCDO, stealthyeliminator!

Hi, stealthyeliminator, and welcome to OCDO!

The images of the people OCing on the front page of OCDO and at the top of the forums are images from photographer Oleg Volk. I believe he makes any of his images freely available for anyone to use for non-commercial 2nd Amendment advocacy, but check out his website and contact him directly for exact permission:

http://olegvolk.net/

You can easily spend hours going through his photo collections & Pro-2A posters (A little less time if you don't pause at every beautiful woman ;) ).

As a point of constructive critisism, I also think the "do it" in the banner seems a little out of place. Perhaps replaced with something along the lines of the official OCDO motto: "A right unexercised is a right lost" or "Concealed or Open, just carry!" or something like that...

Although I do like the banner, I have to agree with Orygunner on the 'do it' part.. for one thing all that comes to mind is 'Starsky and Hutch' (the new one) where they are under cover and hes saying that.. "Do it, just do it." :psorry, was the first thing to pop into my head..

LOL I agree completely about the "do it" part. Originally I was going a different direction with it and didn't take out the do it part when I switched. I was thinking about adding "A right unexercised is a right lost" as well as a couple of variations with some of my favorite quotes. I think that my photobucket gallery is publicly available and they'll all be there, you'll just have to wade through all of the other stuff I have, and there's no telling what all I've uploaded over the years. I had a couple ideas involving US and my state flag so I'll probably make a couple incorporating those. Also there is the Bold Eagle, Statue of Liberty, etc. etc. Hell, I may even make one with the Articles of Confederation, even though they aren't what we use.

Anyway, thanks for the welcomes. I've been trying to talk as much as I can with my peers. Writing notes on facebook, being involved in political discussions in forums, etc.Notjust about open carry though, butseveral areas. I did make a note about the last message I got fromthe opencarry group though, hopefully thatwill lead to some friends getting involved.I also plan on exercising as much of my rights as I legally can, cause, like the motto says, if I don't, I'll loose em. That means when I hit 18, shotgun in the car. 21, pistol in the car. Possibly CHL but I'm assuming we'll have open carry by then ;) .

I have at least a few friends who are enthusiastic about guns already, and are also pretty enthusiastic about carrying, I just have to get them to take the step to supporting open carry. I'm proud that my brother bought a tacticalshotgun to carry in his truck though.

Anyway, thanks for the encouragement.

For those of you who saw the "do it" one you will need to clear your temp internet files for the one with the slogan to show up because I overwrote it with the new one so they havethe same filename.

I'm always encouraged when I see members of the next generation showing signs of "Getting It". It tells me that there's still hope that we can turn this slide towards socialism around.

Stealthy, you may not be able to execise your 2A to it's fullest, yet, but you sure can put your 1A to work right now, to help preserve our Constitution and Bill of Rights for generations to come. I would suggest that you PM John and Mike and let them know about your talents and resolve. I'm sure they can help you put your abilities to best useage.

Welcome to the board. (aka the trenches)

BTW, the "Do it" thing might draw heat from Nike.

And I am always encouraged when I see members of the next generation using proper grammar and punctuation! Nothing bothers me more that spelling errors, shift key neglect, and endless sentences!

Welcome to OCDO stealthyeliminator! :celebrate

+1 to both statements!!!!
And Welcome StealthyEliminator! You have a gift, glad that you have chosen to use it for the betterment of society! I too am a bit vocal about many things that effect us as a society, unfortunately I do not have the time or discipline to dedicate to my blog (http://www.theredneckpolitician.com) that I would like...
