The security officer who accidentally shot himself last night was on duty at the city's water treatment plant off Douglasdale Road, said Sgt. Ron Brown of the Richmond police.
A police captain erroneously reported last night that the guard shot himself at his home. The shooting occurred about 10:15 p.m.; the guard's injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
