I am looking for a rifle that is very difficult to find it seems. Any help is appreciated.

Springfield M1A, either a SOCOM 16 or a SOCOM II. None of that crazy tiger stripe bs. Black synthetic for me.

If you have one for sale please PM me. If you see one the next time your in a dealers shop or at a gun show, please PM me. If anybody sees one I am interested in it, and if you could catch a price please let me know.

I know this is off topic for this forum, but I know I can rely on you all so hence the thread. Also, feel free to carry on conversation about the M1A here, and post your M1A porn.

Thanks for any help in advance.

Thanks spike, I did see those. I have a handle on a SOCOM 16 right now for $1700, just kindof wondering if there is any better deals around that folks have seen lately. I might just have to jump on it, but I hate buying on an impulse. i always try to price check and shop around some first.

Call Keith at Northwest Pawn and Collector arms. He had one on the rack a while back. Or is that the one you have a line on?

Good lord the prices have gone WAY up on them... They were going for 1200-1250 NIB when I got mine (for less) and about 1500 after the election results came in.I will keep an eye out for you.

Don't overlook the SOCOM II and extended rail SOCOM II if you find them for the right price. You can remove the bottom rail easily and you can either blank out the side rails or get a different stock later.

As far as all of the silly camo/striping, you could just rattle-can it black if you wanted to. They're McMillan fiberglass stocks, so they're paintable.

This guy is selling one, with no price listed: http://www.thefiringline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=310928

You sure it was a SOCOM? The stripped have been around $1200 from SA for quite some time but the SOCOMs have always been quite a bit more, and the National Match even more.

100% sure it is a SOCOM. The stock, barrel, charging handle, sights, gas plug and serial number all agree with SOCOM. SA's suggested retail was 1450 when I got mine, but you could find NIB's for 1250 if you shopped around.

Anyhow, surf should check out the link I posted above in the firingline forums.
