I've got a fairly new UpLULA mag loader and it seems to be malfunctioning or broken. I don't know how it happened, but the spring loaded part is stuck "in" and won't move no matter what I do to it. The long tongue that depresses the round is stuck under the lip at the back.

When pressed onto a loaded magazine, the long tongue disengages from the lip, but the spring loaded part will not move in the slightest. It is jammed somehow, and I can't see why.

Any ideas? I HATE loading magazines with my fingers.

There is a small button on the side of the loader. Press the button to release the stuck part.

    Thank you!!!

Need to edit your response a little, however:

"There is a small lever on the side of the loader. Press the lever UP to release the stuck part."

Pushing down on the lever is what locks it. In order to release the moving part, the lever must be pulled up. It does not function as a "button."

Thanks so much. I have messed with this thing for hours and would probably never have discovered that lever.

I use this wonderful device as well. I experienced the exact same thing when I got mine. Like a little kid on Christmas day I ripped it out of the package disregarding the instructions and began to load my clips. However doing so resulted in my thumb hitting that little locking lever after about 4 rounds. after 2 minutes of looking confused and cussing my voice away my girl friend handed me the instructions to which I looked at her like a cave man who cant figure out why his dinner just escaped the trap.

I got mine used from a friend, so never had the instructions. Actually, reading whatever comes with stuff is one of my habits and it's saved me a lot of grief over the years. Sure wish I'd had the instructions for this thing. I've been cussing at loading my magazines for a month! LOL

Sorry I didn't edit to your satisfaction, but my reply got the job done didn't it?

In an effort to supply fast and helpful information, I didn't go to my range bag, find my loader, bring it back to the computer, and determine if it was equipted with a lever or a button.

If you have a problem I can help with in the future I try to be more correct.

Gosh, Mitch, I intended NO criticism at all!! I'm an editor, and wrote technical material for a long career teaching nursing, so I tend to nit pick anyway. I was mostly concerned that others would go looking for the "button" and never find the lever!!! LOL

I'm very grateful that you answered, however worded, because I was going nuts loading those magazines by hand. I didn't know what to do with the loader because I'm so afraid I'll break things! I HAVE learned to stay away from such things with my handy screwdrivers.

Now I'm trying to get up the courage to strip down my XD .45 for more detailed cleaning. I swab and lube the bore after each range run, and wipe down the exterior regularly, but have not yet had it apart. It's due, but I'm chicken. It's my primary carry gun and I'd be really upset if I couldn't get it back together!! I've got the book, and have looked at instructions on line, but it's very different than actually doing it.

I learned to strip down and reassemble my SKS just using the book and working at it for several days... but I don't carry that gun.

Next weekend I have an appointment with a gunsmith and hope to be able to watch him with the process, maybe even participate. I learn so much better from watching and doing than reading directions. We shall see.

    THANKS again!
