So I had a bit of fun applying for my CPL today. First, I drove to the wrong building, only to realize it in the parking lot (4pm) - I then drove from the Washtenaw Service Building to the Washtenaw county courthouse - downtown Ann Arbor. Walked in, and talked to the deputy sheriff at the door, and asked if I'm in the right place:
Me: "I'm trying to find the Clerk's office to apply for my CPL."
Him: "What's a CPL?"
Me: "Concealed Pistol License?"
Him: "Oh no, you have to go in the entrance around the corner."
I know a lot of people call it a CCW... but that's not the term as defined in the law, or on the card.
Anyway, I went around the corner (now 4:40), and got my app in. Paid, they handed me my receipt, and told me I have to go BACK to the service building (5 miles away) with one caveat: they don't do fingerprinting after 4pm, so I have to go back M-F 8AM-4PM. Nice.
So I get fingerprinted tomorrow. :cuss:
Still getting my CPL hopefully within 2 months!
