I think most people are predicting this the wrong way... I don't think they're even going to be able to get to the confiscation, because if they pass anything as restrictive as another "Assault Weapons" Ban, or nationwide licensing and registration...

Just one of the several scenario I see possible: Obama will be tested by terrorist forces early in his term - even democrats admit this. Let's say terrorists are successful through a failure (permitted or penetrated) in our defenses and make big simultaneous hits on multiple targets on both coasts. Soon after, look for Obama to declare martial law "for our protection and to safeguard American society" and enact the gun confiscations seen in NOLO after Katrina on a national scale with the "help" of Canadian and other foreign military forces arriving for "humanitarian aid".

"vote"? ... what vote? ... with multi-national peacekeeping forces on US soil, he could even suspend future elections to remain in power.

This is hopeful thinking as it should have been going on for the last fifty years.

As for what i would do if/when the fed/state government decides I am a felon overnight? I don't think any of knows that until there is a knockat the door. I just pray that enough of my neighbors are of like mind so that theknock at the door never comes.

This is wishful thinking. People will find excuses not to act or get involved. There will not be enough people wiling to give up everything to fight. Add to that the fact that you will be fighting a very well armed foe who has you out gunned because of all of the "reasonable" regulations on what a citizen can posses, and to use a familiar phrase "Resistance is futile".

That does not mean a lot of people will not fight back. I am certain we will see a lot of "nose camera" footage of cruise missiles flying down neighborhood streets and into the next door neighbors nice oak front door. We will be treated to exploding H2 and H3 hummers too. Lots of blackhawk helos taking out people running from hose to house. It will all be very "iraqeske", as the"radical fringe"are cleared from the streets of small towns across America.

I am not normally a very paranoid person, and I have never felt until now that I would live to see the fall of this nation. But In light of what I am seeing right now, I am no longer certain that I won't see it happen. These buyouts are actually converting the free market into a government owned enterprise, and if communism is government ownership of the means of production, you figure it out. Add to that people voting of "change" without any sort of reasonable definition of what that change might be. Now after less than a week we are beginning to see the direction of that change, and I for one am not very happy with what I am seeing.

Will I fight? Yes! First with words and the law, and then with arms if I must. At my age and condition I will likely be one of the first to die if this comes to arms. Do I think my fighting or dieing will make a difference? Probably not, but I am too old to change by conforming my lifestyle and mindsetto a socialist or communist structure.

Am I willing to risk my life for the well being of this country and the constitution? Absolutely. Do I have any plans of going down? No way.

Rent the movie Michael Collins.

Fast foward to the part where the IRA gets all medieval on the Black & Tans' behinds.

Therein lies the answer to your question.

Well I certainly would. There are a lot of things that go on that may not reach the threshold of "is this the hill you want to die on.' But confiscations of firearms on a national scale is that hill, because it is the first step to loss of all the other rights.

That's why there will not just be a direct confiscation of firearms. The would-be tyrants that would take away our liberties and turn us from citizens to subjects know this would spark a revolution/civil war/insurrection against the federal government.

They will do it incrementally. Banning just the importation of certain firearms first (already done with the GCA of 1968), then expanding the classes of "prohibited" people (non-violent felons, people with history of so-called "mental illness" and those with restraining orders, they've already done that too). Next they'llban the sale of certain classes of "dangerous" firearms after swaying public opinion that they're a threat to a safe, civilized society. they'll try requiring registration and/or licensing, and onlyafter thatwill they actually trybanning the possession of some arms, followed by confiscation of those that have been registered.

Confiscation of privately owned arms not the first step. The first steps have already been taken.

Confiscation is the END of the beginning. The closer we allow ourselves to get to confiscation, the harder it will be to resist.

That's why there's some groups of citizens out there that are not going to sit idly by and wait for the end. They're not going to stand for another Assault Weapons Ban by the federal government. I'm sure our Senators and Representatives have seen the warnings by now and I really hope they take the promises seriously, because if they pass another AWB, I'm afraid those elected representatives that vote for it will be voted out of office from the rooftops.

Bwaaahahaha! "Terrorist forces!"

That's the funniest thing I've heard all week!

By the way, why would you ever believe the lies of the power-hungry fear-mongering anti-freedom Obama administration?
