Here is a show called "30 Days" which places a person in an unique environment for 30 days; an environment where one is forced to confront their beliefs. Although I liked the show, there definitely was a subtle message that gun owners are "hicks", at least at the beginning. I would say, though, that this show supports the notion that knowledge will dispel illogical assumptions.

^When a robber walked into a Canton Township bank and gave the teller a note saying he had a bomb, the tellers quietly signaled another of the bank's customers. The man pulled his 9mm pistol and detained the would-be criminal until police arrived. No shots were fired, and the armed citizen leaves with his life, his permit, his gun, and the gratitude of the people in the bank that day.
