Ok, now I know we are talking about the same article. I see the reference to "weapon", but I don't see anything misleading orout of place.

ADRIAN, Mich. -
An Adrian man who had served a prison term for setting off two pipe bombs in Adrian Township in 2002 was arrested Thursday afternoon and is facing new charges.

Walter Jason Priest, 23, is in the Lenawee County Jail on a $500,000 bond that was continued when he was arraigned Friday afternoon on a felony firearm charge.

Adrian police officers responding to a domestic violence call Thursday afternoon found more than they expected in an apartment on Company Street. Officers found a cache of illegal weapons[please define ]and bomb-making materials. According to the booking sheet[ authored by inmate ?]at the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Department, Priest was arrested on a charge of possession of illegal firearms, though formal local and federal charges are pending.

“No bombs were found in the house,” Adrian Police Chief Terry Collins said. “Officers found weapons and what appeared to be bomb-making material. The ATF (U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) and members of the bomb squad said the material was the type that could be purchased anywhere.” [K-mart .C-K.SEARS ]

Collins said officers received a report of a domestic violence complaint at a home in 700 block of West Maumee Street at 1:50 p.m. Thursday. Officers were told the man had threatened residents in the home with a firearm before leaving the scene in a red car.

Identification of the suspect led officers to the apartment in the 700 block of Company Street. Upon arrival, one officer saw a white male matching Priest’s description carrying a rifle or shotgun, Collins said. [ That may be a crime or violation of probation ]. Did they know him on site [the officers ] What if it was Duck hunter or etc ?

After officers knocked on the door several times, Priest finally answered and was taken into custody without incident while a search warrant was executed. [ as a police officer ,I always carried a hundred john doe warrant everywhere I was ? ]Once inside, the chief said, officers found an unspecified number of weapons, { they could not count them ? ]ammunition, attachments for the weapons,[ Legal or store bought ,K-mart Dunhams ,etc ?]bomb-making material and residue from a methamphetamine operation that was no longer in use.

Officers briefly evacuated neighbors in the immediate vicinity and called for help from ATF officials and the Michigan State Police Bomb Squad. Officers from OMNI III Narcotics were also called in due to the presence of suspected narcotics.

Collins said warrants are being sought charging Priest with several counts of possession of illegal firearms. { What KIND of Illegal ? No charges had been filed by late Friday morning, said Jonathan Poer, Lenawee County prosecutor. Federal charges are also being sought.

Priest was released from prison on Aug. 27, 2007, after serving time for a parole violation. His original conviction of possession of explosives with intent to terrorize stemmed from pipe bomb explosions Nov. 22, 2002, at Quality Farm & Fleet, then located on North Adrian Highway, and across the road at the Adrian Cinema 10. The late-night explosions broke windows and a glass door at Quality Farm & Fleet and damaged the asphalt in the parking lot at the cinema.

Collins said the local offenses carry a prison term of three to five years and the federal charges have terms of 10 to 20 years in prison. Priest will be arraigned once the warrants are issued. The investigation by the Adrian Police Department and the ATF continues.

Stories like this one are exactly why I abhor the word "weapon". It does pertain to firearms, but the meaning encompasses so much more than just firearms. Were there other weapons found? Knives, swords, batons, clubs...? Why use such a generic term that causes people to think "violence" when a more specific and appropriate term is there to use? It goes a long way to feed the public view of those who carry for lawful purpose. I hate the media.

Also, how do we know the firearms were his? Who did they belong to? How were they obtained? Were they registered? If they were all in his sole possession, all we know for sure is that HIS POSSESSION of those firearms was illegal. The media says the the WEAPONS were illegal. More misleading and incomplete information. Did I mention that I hate the media?

They are making the firearms out to be as bad as the suspected bad guy!

In my opinion there were no illegal firearms, firearms can't break the law.

I hate the media too! A bunch of sixth grade edumacated Idiots, or their intentions are on purpose which makes them on the side of the Anti-Americans
