URGENT ACTION ITEMS

VCDL needs each of you to send a series of emails to your Delegates
and Senators on some important gun bills coming up on Monday.

We have made it so that each email should only take a few seconds to
do - our system will determine who your Delegate and Senator are based
on your address that you will provide in the form.

** Ask your Senator to FIX Senator Hanger's restaurant ban repeal
bill, SB 1035, by clicking here:

**Ask your Senator to FIX Senator Stolle's gun show bill, SB 1385,
that requires a state trooper be present at gun shows by clicking here:
http://tinyurl.com/bud3jc

**Ask your Senator to SUPPORT Senator Stolle's bill that repeals the
Commonwealth's penalty for unregistered silencers, SB 1383, by
clicking here:

** Ask your Senator to OPPOSE Senator Marsh's gun show bill, SB 1257,
by clicking here:

** Ask your Senator to OPPOSE Senator Marsh's bill to add more
restrictions to Virginia's concealed weapons law, SB 1254, by clicking
here:

If you would like to attend the committee meeting on Monday, January
26, to show support, I will be there with "Guns Save Lives" stickers.

LEGISLATIVE UPDATE

We thank Delegate Pogge for dropping HB 1741, which, as drafted, was
severely flawed.

As we expected from the beginning, Delegate Johnson's restaurant ban
repeal (HB 1821) and K-12 school carry bill (HB 1822) and Delegate
Carrico's teeth for preemption bill (HB 1655) have been re-referred to
the House Militia, Police, and Public Safety committee from the House
Courts of Justice committee.

On a related topic, I just got a letter from Senator John Warner about the FFL increase. He said that he was not on the Judiciary Committee that would be handling its discussion, but he would be voting against the bill if it makes it to the floor.
