No grease 'n no reach-arounds either! California did this to itself... and those of you who still live there know why... I should think.

So far as I can figure, it looks like California actually started all this

The California resolution was passed by the Senate on Aug 15, 1994 with 22 Ayes& 9Noes. Then by the Assembly on Aug 23, 1994 with 54 Ayes & 12 Noes.

Finally published on Aug. 29, 1994 - its unclear to me if the Secretary of the Senate transmitted all the copies as in structed in the resolution.

See, not EVERYTHING from Cali is bad!!!! :p

Representative Riddle,

I would like to direct your attention to the following bills recently introduced in several other state legislatures:

It is apparent that the people of the above states have had enough of the federal government gradually eroding not only state's rights, but individual liberty. That attitude is also quite prevalent here in the State of Texas. I proudly served this nation for four years, but I am sad to see what she is becoming. This country is a far cry from what our founding fathers had in mind when they penned the Constitution. The states have an opportunity to make a powerful statement on the matter by reclaiming the constitutional authority granted them by the ninth and tenth amendments of the US Constitution.

I urge you, as my representative, to author, sponsor, and/or support a similar piece of legislation in our own great state. I urge you, as my representative, to stand against the Federal Government's constant erosion of the rights of the states and individual. The federal government has consistently overstepped its constitutional authority, unchecked. The states have not only the constitutional right, but also the responsibility to their citizens, to hold the federal government accountable to the constitution.

Thank you for taking the time to read my e-mail, and I await your response.

Best Regards,
Rob

Unfortunately the Commonwealth of Virginia has been invaded by the liberal-schmiberal locusts. MY CONGRESSMAN IS JAMES FREAKING MORAN. (sob!). Fat lot of good it would do writing, calling, or e-mailing HIM. This is a man who believes that if you expect to keep what wealth you have then you are a neanderthal. Moran is a donkey's $%^# of the first water.

I wrote Senator Webb and at least got a very nice form letter filled with argle-bargle in reply. Webb is at least so far on our side as regards firearms, but I have to wonder but what if he would gladly toe the party line if he could get an exemption carved out for himself.

The Second, Ninth, and Tenth Amendments to our Constitution have been spit upon, trampled, aand used as toilet paper by the "powers that be" for far too long. Oh, yes; "State's Rights", once a liberal anethema, have recently beenraised when it has been convenient to support the liberal agenda.

It is high time to resurrect the Confederacy. If you don't think so, then go to or write your Congressman's and/or Senator's office here in DC and request a copy of the Constitution. You will recieve a little pamphlet containing the Constitution's text with "helpful" annotations. Among these is an "annotation" explaining that the Second Amendment is OBSOLETE!!

Our current President is a bumbling fool, a liberal tool, and just yesterday was unmasked as a godamned bald-faced LIAR. (He said that the CEO of Caterpillar said that if the "stimulus" passed, he would rehire his recently laid-off workers. When that same CEO was asked about this, he said: no, there would likely be more layoffs no matter what.)

I wonder, though, if it might not be more convenient to kick New York, Massachussets, New Jersey etc OUT of the Union than to secede from it. Either way, you gotta admit it's getting to where something has GOT to give.

Unlike the circumstances of 1861, today the South has industry and manufacturing capacity that rivals the North, PLUS we own most of the domestic energy resources. THIS TIME the South has the advantage. And Secesh sentiment is present in some of the Northern states as well. (As usual Maryland cannot be counted on).

Inasmuch as the Confederacy never formally surrendered the Government... The Confederate Statesstill technically exist under 'Federal Occupation'.

Whereas the Federal government has now gravitated to 'socialism' and sees fit to impose such form of government on the States... in violation of the 9th. 10th Amendments... it is the duty of the States to defend the Republic or act in their own interests. Individually or in concert with other such States.

The Confederacy declared itself a soveriegn nation, raised an Army and Navy, printed money, engaged in treatys and agreements such as any legitimate nation would do.

Yet... it was never considered 'legitimate' by the Union and treated only as a 'rebellion'.

Look how elections break down nowadays, and look how the Porkulus Bill passed by state....

I'd say that the Confederacy is alive, and expanded to include most of the West (AZ, UT, WY, ID, MT). All we need is a flashpoint.

Please, Lord, let this be the other time and place to which President Davis once referred.

Deliver us once and for all from these criminals against life, liberty and property.

The Federal government in DC proceeds headlong toward self destruction. Why the hell should the rest of us be dragged into impoverishment with it? It is no longer 'representative'... it has become imperial. This fact has not escaped some state legislators. This is a critical juncture in history... and the Feds rush around trying to fix what they broke with the same people who broke it. Obama is way out of his league... and a neo-Marxist to boot. Is this what many of us fought for?

I'm pretty sure my father fought for his brothers in arms and his own life, not South Vietnamese sovereignty.

And my ancestors fought to be free of the government that they KNEW would do exactly what has transpired to WE THE PEOPLE.

Glad to see such a positive response to this initiative here, but don't let it end on this forum. Write/call your reps and senators, and spread the word. Watching as a few legislators push good legislation is not productive. Let your voices be heard.
