Now the most they can do is ask you to leave, as they're not protected as a prohabited place of carry under the MCA http://data.opi.state.mt.us/bills/mca_toc/45_8_3.htm

This is where having a conceal carry permit means concealed.

and I'm sure the thug that wants the money in the drawer is going to turn around and leave, just because of the sign....:uhoh:

My hands are dangerous... I guess I can't go in there!

Do they have pens or pencils handy? What is a dangerous weapon? What if I have a weapon but not a dangerous one? Is a weapon a weapon if can't be dangerous? So many questions.

I wonder what the Medical Center workers would do if several druggies stormed the center looking for cash and drugs?

Oh wait, the POSTED SIGN will deter the druggies from entering the building.

My bad.:banghead:

The sign should read "CHECK YOUR MINDS AT THE DOOR" ...because the mind is the most dangerous weapon you possess.

and I will leave it at that.

Someone please ask the people at the Glasgow Hospital if THEY can read the sign?Had it NOT been for the armed citizen, would the death toll (up there) rivaled Klein TX?

The shooting in Glasgow had nothing to do with inside the hospital as it was totally outside in the parking lot.

A hospital like Kalispell Regional Medical Center can only ask one to leave should they discover they are carrying openly or concealed. It is not a matter of a state violation should they be discovered carrying a firearm.

Yes, as a holder of a MT CWP, I understandwhat (little) the sign means. My point simply was that I highly suspect the the Good people of Glasgow are probably very happy that no sign was posted.

I just wonder how many people even see that sign. It's posted out of the line of sight. They have it posted on a wall where you don't really look when you walk in the hospital, they should put it on the door, that way it can be seen easier.

The only thing they have on the door is the sign saying: Turn your cell phones off. I guess they figure cell phones are more important, or life-threatening I mean.

What are the legal ramifications if there is a sign, or something simular, such as this one, and you are involved in a shooting that is a justified?

Jerry this is the simple text of it... the signage is simply like the other rules they have on their wall. Not under the authority of the MCA Laws of Montana. The most that can happen is, if one is discovered with a legal firearm ie "carried openly or concealed" they can ask you to leave. Now if you refuse to leave upon their request, they can call KPD and have an officer escort you off Hospital property, and threaten you with a tresspass ticket the next time you bring a firearm into the building.

But there is no law that says firearms can not be carried in hospitals here in Montana. They tried to write that into HB228 Self Defense Billand it was struck down. So until caught, I carry as they can not nor will they be able to protect myself or my family should the call arrise.
