If enacted this bill would allow you to go to another town or to the state police to get fingerprinted. This would prove helpful for those towns that use delaying of fingerprinting as an excuse to restrict you from getting a permit to carry pistols or revolvers. Please contact the Committee on Public Safety and Security and tell them to support this bill.

AN ACT CONCERNING FINGERPRINT COLLECTION BY MUNICIPAL AND STATE POLICE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to prohibit any municipal police station or state police station from refusing to collect the fingerprints of a person requesting such fingerprinting for the purposes of a criminal history records check in accordance with section 29-17a of the general statutes or other noncriminal purpose based upon such person's residence in another municipality.
Statement of Purpose:
To prohibit police departments from refusing to fingerprint a person based upon such person's residence.
