    I have heard and read on several occasions the courts have found no responsibility on the part of Police to "Protect" anyone.

    Can anybody point me towards case lawor something more definitive than rumor regarding this subject?

    The Supreme Court has ruled on this more than once, but the most current case I believe is Warren v. DC.
