This had to be an "inside job"... Sounds like one of the "friends" knew there was a stash to be had.

8 people robbed at gunpoint at home

February 12, 2009 12:35 am
BY KEITH EPPS

Six intruders forced their way into a Stafford County residence late Tuesday and robbed eight people at gunpoint, police said.

Sheriff's spokesman Bill Kennedy said the home-invasion robbery occurred about 10:40 p.m. on Cross Ridge Court in North Stafford. The suspects left with a safe that contained money and jewelry, along with a large amount of money from one of the victims.

The victims reported that after hearing a knock on the door, several of them looked outside and thought they recognized one of the visitors. When the door was opened, one of the suspects displayed a gun, pushed one victim down and ordered the others to the floor.

The gunman's five cohorts came in and repeatedly asked for money. The victims were ordered to keep their heads down for the entire time the suspects were inside, which was estimated at between three and five minutes.

Kennedy said four of the suspects stayed with the eight victims while the other two went upstairs and plundered. They returned with the safe, then took money from the victims' pockets.

The suspects were gone by the time Deputy Daniel Purcell arrived. Deputies began an immediate search, Kennedy said, but the suspects were not found.

Two of the six suspects were wearing masks, Kennedy said, including one estimated to weigh about 300 pounds. Police said the suspects were between 18 and 25 years old and between 5 feet 7 inches and 6 feet 6 inches tall.

Victims were able to provide only minimal descriptions of the suspects, who were all black males. One was described as short and skinny, wearing a brown and red jacket, white shoes and tight "rock star" jeans. One of the masked suspects had wavy hair, while another suspect had dreadlocks.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Crime Solvers at 540/659-2020.

Shouldn't be hard to track these guys down. Clearly got robbed by someone they know and probably someone who knew there would be people congregating at the residence for whatever it is they are doing.

Hmm, may have to rethink using a revolver for home defense...

Or just carry two!

Seriously though I've been thinking of switching over to my XD45 (5") since it holds 13+1 of .45acp. It's just that I shoot my two revolvers better so I carry them more. I know...practice more with the XD...:)

Nothing says "unwelcome" like the sound of a 12 gauge being racked.

Well. . .nothing other than Mr. 12-gauge giving a nice "howdeedoo!"
Can a sound have a more different feeling based on whatend of the 12 gauge a person might be on?

I think a revolver may still have done the job. After taking out the guy with the gun (appears only one had a gun) I'm sure all the others would have been jumping out of windows in a rush to get the hell out of there.
