Hello all,

This is a post intended to get a broad spectrum of views, ideas, etc. about how you think we should help protect our right to own, carry, etc. As we all know too well, our rights are and will be under assault more than ever before in America, and it's time we did something, don't you think?

I'm one of those guys who just has to do something. So I have to ask, anyone have any ideas? What do you do to help? I think this is, at this moment in time, currently our second biggest fight today. (Don't shoot me if I say I believe the current proposed Parental Rights Amendment--http://www.parentalrights.org --topersonally be my first priority at the moment, for various reasons.) So, this is important.

I'm curious to hear your methods. Do you guys contact your legislators? Local PDs? Get petitions going? Donate to pro-2A groups? I recently read an article in The Blue Press where the author advocated joining the NRA. He admitted that it had issues, but he rightfully concluded it was the largest pro-2A group in America. Do you think he's right in advocating us to make a concession in such dire times as now?

Let's hear what you have to say. :D

Call your congressman/women, I do,,almost daily, Join the NRA, GOA, and almost every other pro-gun site and stay alert, stay alive. The Socialists DO NOT want to mess, if they realize the consequences. 85 million gun owners in America, IF even half of us have the balls to say Modom Labe,,,
Keep your powder dry!

I have for some time called for a national clearing-house at least or a consortium of all National State and Local firearms rights groups; a Congress of Firearms Organizations (with a constitution and bylaws to ensure "mole" organizations are kept OUT).

This Congress could join forces with the NRA much as John Lewis's Congress of Industrial Organizations joined with Samuel Gompers' American Federation of Labor to become the AFL-CIO.

"THE NRA-CFO" Has a nice ring, doesn't it??

Not even life members can vote instantly upon joining.

Think of this as the "anti-Michael Moore" rule.

Yeah and only 538 people may vote on issues that claim 281,000,000+ peoples voices.

As I sit here at my computer, the great liberal messiah (aka Obama) is at it again. As I am writing this there is more proposed legislation about removing our 2nd amendment rights to bear arms. For those of us who have sworn to protect our nation from enemies both foreign and domestic here is your wake up call. Liberal america will have you believe that the Great Messiah will save us all. Thats what the Nazi's felt when Hitler took power in the earlier part of the 20th century. Those of you who are like me and enjoy the freedoms given to us from the constitution and the bill of rights will choke when you learn that the Anti-gun lobby is pushing for more controls over the firearms industry. With the introduction of HB 45 and the ammunition accountability bill where each bullet will have a serial number and a database created to track the sale of ammunition. Additionally, the cost to implement this new database will thrust upon you and I the consumer, increasing the cost by about $2.50 per box of 50. If you don't believe me, look for yourself. www.snopes.com/politics/guns/ammunition.asp ammo accountability bill. Or perhaps the HB 45 that would require the registration of any firearm that has the ability to use a detachable magazine, so any semi auto handgun, or rifle is on this list.

As a red blooded american who values the rights granted to us all by virtue of the Constitution of the United States of America, I am not only appalled that these types of legislation would even be considered, I would think that others would be just as outraged as I am about these and others like them could do to law abiding citizens who choose to own and carry firearms. I choose to own and carry a firearm for it is not only my right, but for the protection of my family myself and others. The gun lobbiests would have you believe that gun violence is due to accessibility to firearms and that we as a country should clamp down on this accessibility. I strongly disagree, while I do feel there is an issue with these people that choose to target innocents and shoot indiscriminatley into the masses, and that issue is that they should not be the rallying point for the anti gun community. These terrorists do not deserve the five minutes of fame they are given by the nightly news crews.

Yes you heard me correct, I said Terrorist! These people that choose to kill innocent people in a cowardly act is terrorism plain and simple. The liberal left would have you believe that these terrorists are what gun owners are. You and I both know that is BS, but I tell you now that these people are fear mongers and wish to instill fear of firearms and gun owners as the evildoers. I will tell any and all will listen, most gun owners and people like myself are patriots. Many of us have served our country, bled for our country and fear the path of liberalism we have begun with the Great Messiah! If the citizens of this great nation are not careful, this will be the beginning of the end of our great nation. Governments need to remember to fear the people, for the people retain the power of any sovereign nation.

"A Bill of Rights is what the people are entitled to against every government, and what no just government should refuse, or rest on inference." Thomas Jefferson

Um, Tacmedic, may I ask: Are you an Ubamanista agent-provocateur?

While we all are aware of how nefarious the government can be at ALL levels right down from the Oval Office to the living room of some pompous president of a homeowner's or civic association. There is a certain class of people who desire a fiefdom, and they will take whatever fief they can be granted; and their wish is to ultimately be the grantor of fiefs to others. These types had their uses in medevial feudalist society, but they are completely incompatible with republican democracy. Yet here they are, as persistent as the common cold; and just as unwelcome but omnipresent nonetheless.

Now it is true that a cold can develop into pneumonia (and pneumonia killed the Father of Our Country). That is what the 2nd Amendmeent was designed to avert. I have no doubt that the present Administration prefers unarmed peasants and hates our weapons. I have no doubt that they would strip us naked to the mercxiless savage sociopaths with no remedy but to call the authorities; who would examin our dead corpses and their urrondings for evidence to catch the killers but we would be just as dead as if they had not bothered, and this means nothing to them as their goal would be to convince our widows, orpahans and other survivors that they are safe because the criminal who killed us was brought to Justice; and thus by laying all power in the hands of an elite government they are made safe though their loved one be sacrificed.

But the stocks of ammunition already laid in by Patriots against such foolishness as ammo nicrostamping and the tidal wave of firearms purchases since the end of the Demon-Rat primary has shown to these bastards that they cannot win on the gun front. And forums such as this are read by the would-be tyrants and they can see the writing on the wall. True the Brady Bunch has tried over-reaching, but the Administration itself has been surprisingly mute, and the (Eric Holder led) Justice department is even DEFENDING the "Guns in Parks" rule that National parks must abide by State regulation as regards carrying firearms.

Against this background I must say that "The Day" may come when patriots must rise up and reclaim the Constitution from those who have made her an whore to their political desires. But "The day"will dawn red with the blood of patriots first, as it did at Concord and Lexington. And it is best "The Day"not come at all. But if "The Day"come, I will defend our Constitution against the Domestic Enemy, and if I must die, the bullets that kill me will enter my breast and not my back.

Good post Alexcabbie, the only thing I don't agree on is when you say "And it is best "The Day"not come at all."

The day we should have restored our Constitution should have happened years ago. From my own research 90% of what government does is unconstitutional, the government has attacked us on all fronts; from our streets to sometimes our own back yards. If we and our states don't do something soon, it maybe to late.

Doesn't take a lot of research to come to that 90% conclusion. A brief reading of Article I would be a real eye opener if kids were still taught it in school.

Your right it didn't, when I was 16 I started to research our constitution due to the fact (like you said) kids are not taught our history or rights. The first week I seen the truth, and I've been trying educate others ever since.

I hope everyone is doing their best to do the same thing.

I carry a pocket copy of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution in my truck. I also carry spare copies for those whose interest has been piqued.

I would like to find a similar brochure sized copy of the Constitution of the Confederate States of AMerica, for those times when I need to teach someone a lesson there as well...

I have noted this a couple times, that the pocket copy of the Constitution given to visitors by members of Congress and the Senate has an annotation describing the Second Amendment as "obsolete". I am NOT making this up.

Just another reason the people need to stand and say no more! We really need to do something about the feds; soon we will be getting taxed to breath.

You know what would REALLY drive a point home?? Smash a few cases of those damned corkscrew light bulbs on a playground and alert the media and the authorities. See, those things contain mercury. So there would be a highly-publicized HAZMAT cleanup and there would be no hiding what it was. Betch if that happened a few times the soccer moms would begin to seriously question what the Greenies and libs were trying to shove down their throats.

Now I am not advocaating that anyone actually DO this, as it would likely be in violation of several laws. And just as our government scrupulously observes the Constitution when making the laws, so it is our obligation to scrupulously follow the laws.

And get you arrested for a terrorist act.

Oh, and maybe incorrect disposal of hazardous materials. Probably something about failing to follow label directions or something.

You know those shampoo bottles that say: "Wet hair, apply product, lather, rinse, repeat"? I only do it once. I tear tags off matresses too. And when I used to get punch cards to send in for magazine subscriptions, I folded, spindled and mutilated them.

But my piece de resistance was the day Ted Kennedy's presidential campaign sent me a postage-prepaid envelope for donations. I filled the holes in two bricks with lead, wrapped them up, and pasted the envelope - first class postage prepaid - onto the whole thing. And I'm not the only person who ddid something like that. Too bad postal regs make that impossible to pull off today. I would have loved it if Obama's campaign had sent me a prepaid fundraiser envelope.
