Day by Day ... I am a subscriber and find that Chris Muir has some very good and often amusing commentary through his strip.
Bob Owens @ Bearing Arms (paraphrased): "These people aren't against violence; they're very much in favor of violence. They're against armed resistance."

A man can die. An idea is immortal.

"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." Thomas Jefferson, Virginian

In the final seconds of your life, just before your killer is about to dispatch you to that great eternal darkness, what would you rather have in your hand? A cell phone or a gun?

He who would give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety". Benjamin Franklin

    To whichI add...

"The name of peace is sweet, and the thing itself is beneficial, but there is a great difference between peace and servitude. Peace is freedom in tranquillity, servitude is the worst of all evils, to be resisted not only by war, but even by death."
    Marcus Tullius Cicero

    and as such...

"I am thus far a Quaker, that I would gladly argue with all the world to lay aside the use of arms and settle matters by negotiation, but unless the whole will, the matter ends, and I take up my musket and thank Heaven He has put it in my power."
-Writings of Thomas Paine 56 (M. Conway ed. 1894)

True, honest negotiation can solve a host of problems -- PROVIDED all parties want essentially the same result. But sadly it is most often used to give the strong a public-relations cover for crushing the weak.
Will enough Americans resist? Who knows? But they need to understand up front that it is an all-or-nothing decision. Win or die.

    Once more:

"Those who beat their swords into plowshares will be plowing for those who did not"

(Popularly attributed to Benjamin Franklin, but true no matter who said it)
