The cause of William Wallace is the cause of everyone who wants to be free.

To whichI add...

"The name of peace is sweet, and the thing itself is beneficial, but there is a great difference between peace and servitude. Peace is freedom in tranquillity, servitude is the worst of all evils, to be resisted not only by war, but even by death."
Marcus Tullius Cicero

and as such...

"I am thus far a Quaker, that I would gladly argue with all the world to lay aside the use of arms and settle matters by negotiation, but unless the whole will, the matter ends, and I take up my musket and thank Heaven He has put it in my power."
-Writings of Thomas Paine 56 (M. Conway ed. 1894)

True, honest negotiation can solve a host of problems -- PROVIDED all parties want essentially the same result. But sadly it is most often used to give the strong a public-relations cover for crushing the weak.
Will enough Americans resist? Who knows? But they need to understand up front that it is an all-or-nothing decision. Win or die.

Once more:

"Those who beat their swords into plowshares will be plowing for those who did not"

(Popularly attributed to Benjamin Franklin, but true no matter who said it)
