Alright so here's the deal - just recently bought my first revolver, plan on getting a CPL in the next month or so when I can rustle up the cash. However, when I got my license to purchase the gun at the police station in Mason, they said I SHOULD NOT return with it for safety inspection. At the time, (this all being new to me), I thought "great! easier for me," but after coming back to this site and realizing that the law defines open carry as legal for "a safety inspected handgun" I'm wondering if this is some sort of ingenious plot on the part of the local police to make open carry illegal. I'm sort of afraid that if I open carry without that safety inspection, legally I amat fault. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
**edit: I say "ingenious plot on the part of the local police" with sarcasm, because I really think it is just probably designed for the ease of everyone involved....but still....
***edit #2: I want to start OC'ing right away. I would like to exercise thisright for my own protection, protection of those I love, and because I should have the right to. However, this "saftey inspection" deal is giving me some qualms...
