Notice that legislatures in Michigan, Montana and South Carolina, among others, are moving strongly to assert their sovereignty under the 10th Amendment. Let's try to get Tennessee on board, too.

I neglected to point out that while there are many issues, this movement is driven primarily by gun-rights concerns. It's gratifying to see our cause brought out of the looney-tune category and into the mainstream.

Please contact your Tennessee lawmakers.

Tennessee just recently proposed a bill to do this very thing...although in my opinion it does not go far enough--as it was more of a silly, non binding resolution asking the President and Congress to "pretty please respect the rights of Tennessee and of it's citizens."...I think we should seek to somewhat mirror HCR 006 in New Hampshire...and as a state vociferously assert that Tennessee would not tolerate the passage or imposition of any unConstitutional laws upon the citizens of this state.

Thanks, suntzu. I believe the time is right for the sovereign states of Free America to stand up. Certainly the feds will huff and puff but their rhetoric, as Faulkner put it, will be full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

If we truly stand firm -- and present an organized and committed front -- there is little our enemies can do. Liverlips Schumer and other enemies can poke holes in the air but that's about all. If our legislatures and executives simply say "no" then the enemy becomes essentially impotent.

It boils down to this: Will we permit the Left Coast and the Boston/New York/DC axis to impose their will on us? Organization is the key. Otherwise they will pick us off one-by-one.

It's cool to see the states passing bills asserting their sovereignty, but have they actually got a hair on their ass to step out of the United States should it come down to it?

Dismembering the Union is not an option. If we are to survive as a nation we must present an united front to the world. Remember nearly everyone hates us, especially those we have helped the most. If America Balkanizes she will die. Mexico is already pushing masses of people into our country and others will try to capitalize.

What about Canada? Canada is a cypher. She will always take the path of least resistance while wrapping herself in the PC flag.

Whatever happens we have to present a strong, united front to the world. Given this imperative, the sovereign states must be allowed to decide for themselves their course on firearms and other visceral issues.

If American turns into the Balkans she will indeed die, but this is exactly what our liberal enemies in fascist controlled California and Communist controlled D.C wants. This is also what our other enemies want--and yet we cannot even now present a united front because we have a federal government who panders to the special interest groups like the Brady Center, and the "international community" which hires lobbyists to destroy our nation in their favor. The purpose of the federal government was extremely limited originally--to provide a united defense to invasion through the raising of armies, and the levying of war against our enemies were the two primary purposes of the federal government...We need to get back to the original intent of our founding fathers and get the federal government out of the business of the American people and out of our pockets....

Canada is a socialist joke the same as the French.

Indeed, the states and the people who reside in them should worry about our own business and let the federal government worry about its Constitutionally limited purpose and leave state matters to the STATES.
