Lots of reasons for the crazy pricing but not because of HR45 - its going nowhere.

Saw a 16" Bushmaster AR at the Harrisonburg show for $950 - seemed like a fair price compared to what I've heard of elsewhere. Saw one table asking $499 for the 7.62 and .223 saigas - highway robbery. That's a 100% increase from just over a year ago.

I've never seen $950 I went to a lady Jan.30 and she had a 5.56 ar-15 for me said i could get it for 1050. Went back a week ago she said she wanted 1650 for the same exact gun because its becoming rare. And with the Obama ban I didnt stick around to hear anymore I walked out.I think Im just going to get 1000 rounds for the .45 and a AR-15 and alot of bullets. But not for $1650.

I got there as the doors opened on Saturday, so I could peruse the tables before what deals there might be were picked over. I picked up a fistful of surplus AR magazines, as well as two 20 round Mini-14 mags for only $25 each (pricy but cheaper than what Ruger wants for them). And I finally found that Schofield I wanted! A new Uberti in .45LC for only $750, which is a nice savings over MSRP. I guess if they pad the price of ARs and AKs enough, they can cut the rest of us deals on less black and less evil guns
