I know it was old. I looked here before I went. I was not even sure if it would be seen just thought I would add to it. I was already to OC then saw the sign and did not want to push it and mess up a fun day.

Park is owned by City of Seattle, receives 32% of its funding from the City of Seattle and King County, I would venture to say that it falls under preemption.
Woodland Park Zoo Management
In 2002, the City of Seattle transferred management and financial responsibility of Woodland Park Zoo to the Woodland Park Zoological Society. Founded in 1965, the nonprofit Society initially served as the zoo’s fundraising partner, but over the years has taken on an increasing number of responsibilities, such as marketing and membership. A 47-person, volunteer Board of Directors governs the Zoo Society with eight Board committees providing forums for information sharing between the Board and staff for various areas of zoo administration. The President and CEO reports to the Board and supervises all zoo staff. The City of Seattle continues to own the zoo grounds and exhibits.
Restrictions
For the safety of the animals and fellow zoo visitors, certain items may not be brought onto zoo grounds. We must
ask that balloons, piñatas, balls, frisbees and other flying objects not be part of your event. Clowns, mascots, costumes
and other “circus” type items are also prohibited. Please consult your Sales & Event Specialist before bringing items
and activities into the zoo.
In compliance with quarantine restrictions and park regulations pets, skateboards and firearms are not allowed
at Woodland Park Zoo.
No, the Zoo is staffed by private employees of the Zoological Society, not City employees. One of my co-workers has a second job with them and our legal types had to seek clarification on this exact matter to ensure he was not working for 2 government agencies at the same time.
Going in on Sunday. Shall update with my experience.

So you mean monkeys will be CC?
Went in today around 2pm from west entrance. Didn't notice one sign, didn't totally look at all the corners. Security on bicycles rolling by, security/attendant at gate. Asked for a hand stamp just in case I was asked at any point to leave/ go to my car so I could come back.
Really nothing to report. Not one person said anything from ferry to dim sum to kidd valley (kiddo wanted Chinese but never had dim sum style and was turned off immediately... probably by my order of chicken feet ) then from gate to exit..
Noticed one German family (do all of these people come in from out of town for fleet week/ seafair?? Had a bunch at my restaurant from out of town too) completely stop conversation as they got near. But not for long. The lion started roaring.
The woman hung out with the orangutan for almost a half hour and has a sudden interest in anthropology studies it seems.
Since we did the city pass deal, will have to update with Pacific Science Center, space needle, and aquarium..And argosy cruise if we so choose to. Have already carried at the EMP.

Greetings,
Thank you for asking for clarification on carrying firearms. Woodland Park Zoo does follow city policies on open and concealed carry. You may carry a permitted, concealed firearm on zoo grounds.
However, for open carry, we do suggest that you leave your firearms at home. Because we are a family destination, and many of our guests are uncomfortable seeing someone carry a firearm in close proximity to their families, we may need to supply a security escort if you decide to open carry. The security guard would be on hand to alleviate the concerns of our other guests. Please contact me with any further questions.
Thanks,
Valerie
