I'm wondering if anybody has any experiences relating to OC in Pahrump, NV. I'm especially interested in hearing about:

1) Positive or negative experiences at stores;
2) Are all casinos off-limits? or do some permit OC?
3) ... with law enforcement (attitudes of Nye County Sheriff's Office),
4) ideas about organized OC / raising awareness,
5) where to purchase guns and ammunition in town, and
6) any other comments you think are relevant.

I live in northern NV. But I have had some "less than good" experiences with Sheriff Tony DeMeo.

A search of this forum should reveal a few posts about him.

For instance, Sheriff DeMeothought he could "write his own law" and require handgun serial numbers on his CCW application. It took a few calls to legislators to fix this.

I spent a week out in Pahrump a couple years ago to attend a course at FrontSight. I OC'd everywhere I went for the week I was there. Restaurants, hotel, gas stations, convenience stores. No weird looks, no comments, nothing but positive interactions.

For the record, that has been my experience everywhere in Nevada and Arizona that I've OC'd.

My family and I spent Sunday afternoon down at the St. Patrick's Day celebration in downtown Henderson. We rode carnival rides, played midway games, listened to the performers, etc. I passed by police a number of times with no comments.

Ironically, the only person who said anything was the lady working the "shoot out the red star with the fully auto BB gun" booth. My daughter, her friend and my son were playing. She looked at my gun and asked what it was. I said, "Colt." She said, "Do you have a badge to go with it." I said, "Don't need one." She said, "Oh, I know. My dad was a LA County cop for 20 years." Then she proceeded to chit-chat with us for a while.

Good luck,
Bob

Having just returned to the forum after moving to Pahrump 6 months ago from Vegas, I can say I have OC'd every day out here without issue of any kind. I don;t go into casinos, so not sure if any trouble would ensue there, but I do go into Dotty's on 160 by the walmart and it's posted no firearms, and they never say a word.

Nice to be back, btw.
