This is what happens when they take away our guns

    By Lauren Williams

    March 24, 2009 12:20pm

THREE children including a 7-year-old girl, were inside a Merrylands home when at least four bullets were sprayed into the front of the house.

Gang squad detectives are expected to take over investigations into the 11th drive-by shooting in five days.

A man believed to be the owner of the home narrowly avoided injury as one of the bullets shattered the window of the black BMW X5 he was standing near last night.

Police are searching for the gunmen who witnesses have described fleeing the scene in a white Nissan Maxima around 8.40pm.

The family returned to the home around 8am this morning after being interviewed by police.

A short time ago a man, believed to be the owner of the home, sped away in the black BMW X5.

Police say it is too early to say for certain whether the shooting is bikie related, but police meetings are currently underway where it is expected gang squad detectives will be placed in charge of the investigation.

Neighbours say the family have lived in their duplex brick home for approximately three years and “mostly keep to themselves.”

One friend of the family said they had been shocked by the incident and had “never caused in any trouble.”

    “They’re terrified, obviously.”

Others say they saw suspicious behaviour at the house, including late night visits and frequent changes of car.

The shooting, in Frances St, Merrylands, was the 11th gun attack in just five days.

Police could not confirm if the drive-by was bikie related but confirmed that a number of shots were fired from a white Nissan Maxima about 8.40pm.

The house targeted was a brick duplex and a bullet shattered the rear window of a blue BMW X5 in the driveway.

A man, believed to be the owner of the home, was near the car when the shooting occurred.

No one was injured but detectives last night took the man and other occupants of the house away for questioning.

Frances St was blocked off as forensic and crime scene officers investigated the shooting.

A group of friends, who had been at a park adjacent to the house, said they heard shots and saw flashes.

The 19-year-old witness, who did not want to be named, saw a white car, possibly a ute, drive by.

"We saw gun shots and flashes, it wasn't that loud," he said.

"I thought it was a bunger at first but as soon as I saw the flashes (of the gun) we all just started running."

The previous attack, on Sunday night, was at Bossley Park. A house was sprayed with bullets, but no one was injured.

What's a bikie, as in "bikie related".
Revelation 1911 - And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

It would appear to mean a member of a motorcycle gang.

So with harsh gun control bad people are still shooting unarmed citizens. Wow who would have thought?

Looking at crime reports from AU, what are the more common weapons for robberies now? Oh right knives and long blades, as predicted. They might never get a clue and discover taking away rights only allows criminals to use such right.
Gays are prominent members of firearm rights, we do more via the courts, don't like it? Leave.
Religious bigots against same sex marriage are not different than white supremacists.
I expel anti-gay people off my teams. Tolerance is key to team cohesion and team building.
