Corrected for my actions? What actions? Making mistakes? You're joking right?

I just posted to the forum, in an affable manner, an item I thought was an interesting topic for discussion. Please don't assume you can take me to task without knowing me, and that I will just step in line and snap-to like some unlettered recruit.

Nor should you assume that becoming condescending toward me because someone hasn't spend hours perusing a forum for the "right answer" is the correct response either regarding "etiquette".

I think I'll free up some time now and vacate this forum for good. First post earlier in the week, last post today. I have better things to do with my time.
All we are saying is that we have new people joining this forum every day. When someone comes onto a forum and starts a post about something that has already been answered on numerous other threads before taking the time to look around and get a feel for the sight, it makes it hard for those of us who have been around a while.

Look around. Explore the threads. Do a search. Realize that we have a VERY active OC group in Idaho and chances are a lot of the things you will experience have already happened to someone else. But don't get bent out of shape when you are told to do a quick website search before making a new post. (that is standard procedure on ANY web forum)

Hope you stick around as this site has a lot to offer and we love getting new people involved. But if you are gonna throw a fit and storm out... well then, don't let the door hit you on the way. :p

Pity you're moving along. You've got the right attitude.

guys. do a search before you ask questions that have been beaten to death. ;)

So someone step up to the plate and combine a bunch of common Idaho topics into one thread and ask John or Mike to make it a "sticky."

As an example go look at this thread in the Washington forum:
http://opencarry.mywowbb.com/forum55/15411.html
When you get something new just add to it.

Have been on OCDO for about 5 months and have read almost every Idaho thread with great interest (even the old stuff, a fewyears old). I think the people on here are great. I like the fact that people speak their mind in a straight forward manner. If people are going to get offended so easy maybe they should move over to facebook.

I can agree with you, 4liberty, and I can even agree with this "straight-forward talk" ya'll talk about. I think there's a line that is/was crossed, where being abrupt, became being rude. Then the comments make people (members and non-members alike) avoid joining/quit the group, and hurts the movement.

If there is a newby on any boards that I frequent; most of the members will give them the courtesy of a learning curve. Many times, this includes re-stating whats already been said many times before. But the newby quickly catches on, and becomes a productive part of the group.

 what if a FAQ was bookmarked by the person who was frustrated by answering it so many times before. Then a mere cut-n-paste is all that would be needed in a reply. .....Or the frustrated party may not even choose to reply at all, or at least not till after they were no longer frustrated.

I'm a Washington resident, but I frequent Post Falls & Coeur d'Alene occasionally.

I haveOC'd in the Cd'A Sportsman Warehouse, and the Spokane Valleyoutlet as well, with no comments from anyone.

I do notask for permissionbefore I OC in stores, I simply excercise my rights. If the store owner/ manager should ask me to leave, as ishis right,I will comply with no comment, and take my business elsewhere.

I believe in Buying American from those who believe in American freedom & liberty.

Don't get upset when you are corrected about your actions on this forum. We are here to help and support one another, but there is a code of etiquette. Look around the forums before you start posting. Get a feel for what we are about and the kind of research that has already gone into these situations. Then, after you are informed, feel free to join the discussions and ask questions as necessary.

We do not have any rule requiring people to check threads before posting a question or comment, so nobody should be "correcting" anybody for posting an old and tired question (to us).

But suggesting that they google the question and put "opencarry.org" in the search line is probably a good idea as it will often turn up an OCDO thread that answers the question, so maybe this suggestion should be added to forum rules.

In any event, the VP of Sportsmens' Warehouse will correct this store if they are not in line with allowing open carry - is there still a problem at this location?
