I don't know if it's going to be ON the campus, but I'm fairly certain that I can - even if it's on campus [i'm not a student there, BTW], I just want to make sure. Thanks all.

You could send them a nice note telling them that you would be more than happy to support the school, IF it ever decided to act like its namesake. But, since they like infringing your rights, you'll just hang out and watch them take some heat.
I'll make you an offer: I will argue and fight for all of your rights, if you will do the same for me. That is the only way freedom can work. We have to respect all rights, all the time--and strive to win the rights of the other guy as much as for ourselves.

If I am equal to another, how can I legitimately govern him without his express individual consent?

There is no human being on earth I hate so much I would actually vote to inflict government upon him.

I was under the impression that VA universities can only expell or tell you to leave
if you carry a gun on campus. not a serious thing if you're not a student.

This is true for the most part, but the previously referenced code section is in the Virginia Administrative Code. I know that VCU is in there too, not sure about other universities.

Gotta read the code before you conclude what the consequences are for violating it.

These are regulations written by the school. Violating these regulations are not a crime. It's not a misdemeanor or a felony to be present on the GMU (or VCU) campus while armed, as far as I can tell.

That said, their police can tell you to leave if they notice you're armed. If you refuse, that's a completely different situation, and not at all related to the quoted portion of the VAC. I don't personally have the resources to fight that fight, so avoiding the situation makes sense.

On the other hand, I'm not at all concerned about losing my right to own/carry a firearm because I'm on the GMU campus with a gun. It's very, very different from being armed in a courthouse or a K-12 school.

    exactly my point texas n
in NV a casino can ask you to leave if you're armed.
if you don't THEN you get in trouble.
so if your caught packing, if they ask you to leave, leave and have a nice day
    ...

anyway, I think those westboro creeps just need to get the snot kicked out of them.
thats why they left Reno real quick, they got roughed up.
somehow the cops did not see it, (wink wink)
they complained but were informed that the police can not guarantee anyone's safety.

They hope for officially being told they can't protest, then collect the payouts when the have a lawsuit.

How can they ask you to leave? It's public property and you're not a student that is under administrative rule..... This really needs to get settled once and for all.

Because universities are so special they can get away with it.

It will be settled soon enough, lets hope it goes in our favor.

    quote from their site:

Why do you picket soldiers' funerals? Here are some axiomatic matters of fact:
These turkeys are not heroes. They are lazy, incompetent idiots looking for jobs because they're not qualified for honest work.
They were raised on a steady diet of *** propaganda in the home, on TV, in church, in school, in mass media - everywhere - the two-pronged lie: 1) It's OK to be gay; and, 2) Anyone saying otherwise, like WBC, is a hatemonger who must be vilified, demonized, marginalized into silence.
Therefore, with full knowledge of what they were doing, they voluntarily joined a ***-infested army to fight for a ***-run country now utterly and finally forsaken by God who Himself is fighting against that country.
    They turned America
    Over to ****;
    They're coming home
    In body bags.
America used an IED to bomb Westboro Baptist Church on August 20,1995 - an act of terror aimed at terrorizing us into discontinuing our nationwide Gospel preaching against the homosexual menace.
When America thus became WBC's terrorist, God became America's Terrorist.
Therefore the IED is God's weapon of choice in avenging Westboro Baptist Church by blowing America's kids to smithereens in Iraq. And the carnage has barely begun.
Thus, their funerals are the forum of choice for delivering WBC's message of choice.

    Your usual flair for understatement.

That quote was so inflammatory and narrow-minded that my first reaction was, "That has got to be a false-front website someone else put up to smear West-Bap."

Believing such to be likely, I went to the linked homepage. Ratherbitter bunch, aren't they. One has to wonder what they think of their fellow man when they conclude they need to talk to him in that tone.

I wonder if they are on the list of extremists the government is going to check out, like the Ron Paul supporters.

I strolled by the White House today to catch these goofy protesting (Of course, not OC'ing)

    Gays counter protesting

    GITMO protest

The picture of the guy (I thought it was Phelps) in front of the white SUV was great.

He was arguing with the Capital Police (or Secret Service) about the gays counter protesting (He is with the WBC). The Police told him point blank, he didn't give a **** who started a fight, he was going to get arrested first

WBC Guy: "But they are inciting violence and threatening to beat us, aren't you going to do anything about it?"
    Police: "No"

These people are garbage and I wouldn't piss on them with gas if they were on fire.
