So I posted on here about the AMT .45 Backup I was thinking about trading for and decided to stay with my 9mm, but I'm still wanting something bigger. Before you bash me for carrying a Hi-Point, I want you to know that I love this gun and don't care to hear your negative opinion on it... 500 rounds and not a single jam. I've fed it Blazer Brass, Winchester white box, and Wolf. It's eaten everything with no problems and is really accurate. My only problem is the size and weight... I'm looking at a Taurus 24/7 .40 cal... The gun's had 10 rounds fired through it and was only there to prevent a robbery at the pawn shop I'm thinking about purchasing it from. The price tag on it new was like $499. The guy's giving it to me for $275.... Is that a pretty fair price? How's this thing perform as far as jams and accuracy? I'd trust the Hi-Point if I were in a situation where I had to use it to save my life. I want the same out of the Taurus... I think it's a nice looking gun, feels really good in my hand, and weighs probably not a third of the weight of my Hi-Point...

no i wont bash your hi-point as i am going to get one of there 995 carbines...for what i need it for it will fit the bill...plus i really cant afford a 9mm ar15..and i cant ever find the damn kel-tec sub2000 in 9mm...for under $250..and yes thats a great deal on a 24/7..even if there is issues it has a life time warranty...the only issue i ever had with that pistol...the .40 as a matter of fact...for some strange reason neither i nor a few other folks could ever get the 15th round in the magizine without the help of a speedloader and some cussing...other then that havent heard anything about them that the major gun makers havent had with their guns...if you can go for it

A 24/7 with only 10 rounds down the pipe for $275? That's a steal! I've never heard of any major problems with Taurus guns. And they do have that warranty. I'd say go for it.

I've got a 24/7 in .40 cal that has had 1000+ rds through it. I've had one misfire and that was the ammo not the pistol. At $275 it sounds like a bargain to me. I would buy another one in a heartbeat.

I agree. Just make sure the serial numbers haven't been "scathed off!" document.write('/images/emoticons/big_grin.gif');

1. High Quality Firearm
2. Lifetime no questions asked warranty
3. Outstanding calibre
4. Great Comfort
5. Under $300

I say you should jump on that before you regret it

Yeah the serial numbers were all good and not scratched lol. It's at a local pawn shop that's been around for a while. I've never known them to do any shady business. I talked directly to the owner about the gun the other day, he's the one who carried it, so I know that a salesman wasn't just trying to pull a fast one or something. It's all legit.

good darn gun even at the new price...but that trigger...my goodness it is gross...however taurus's new 800 series that is hammer fired...yeah baby..im a sucker for hammer fired pistols...man if glock could come out with a hammer fired pistol that keeps there realiabilty and good priceing...well i might just have the second best pistol..next to my wonderful p2000 of course;)....

somebody could give me a kimber 1911, a sti, a wilson combat, a nighthawk custom and a handful of glocks...well i think i could get me quite a few hk products for what i sell those puppies for....:lol:i have my brand and im sticking to it...it may not the best in my world...

moral of the story is....buy the taurus at that price..you have all of our blessings on it...buy it and be happy...well you should be...IMHO

Pssh! Whatever, H&K is the best in the world. If H&K made a 1911 I'de be all over it, or if I could get a USP or USPc in a decent price I'de be all over that too.
