In light of this article from the New York Times, you'd think that bank managers all over NC would WELCOME law-abiding citizens OCing in their bsinesses:

According to FBI statistics, NC has the 4th highest incidence of bank robbery, after Los Angeles, Sa Francisco, and Seattle. This is partially due to the fact that NC has more bank branches per capita than any other state in the Union, but I woul dalso venture that it is because of NC's silly prohobition on CC for CHP holders, and the increasing hoplophobia among branch managers. It has been proven time and time again, through interviews with convicts, and actual incidents, that criminals tend to turn and walk when they enter an establishment where the patrons are armed.
Most banks (including those in NC) no longer employ armed guards. So these branch managers are delusionally believing that the police will arrive in time to stop bank robbers, or that bank robbers will somehow flee from their scary "no guns" signs...
I'm having the same problems with BB&T. They are a great bank in all other respects--low or no fees for most services, very cooperative and helpful customer service, and very friendly staff at every branch I've used, from NC to WV to VA to MD. But those signs they post are deeply offensive.
Someone needs to do a scholarly research paper correlating bank robberies and OC policies. I bet there's a Master's Thesis in Criminal Justice in that topic...
