Of course I vote for the gun although if I do use the key method go for the windpipe or eyes. Then again the splint on my broken finger might be more of a weapon than any key right now.

Quick tip. The keys between the fingers will hurt you more than the attacker. Gun will definitely hurt more. But gun failing, your largest key pressed between the pad of your thumb and the second knuckle of your index finger can do some real damage without turning your own hand to ground beef. Still, there is a reason you can carry your keys but not your gun in sensitive areas.

I know there is a reason. My point was there isn't a way. Unless you have a way to slip a CCW through the metal detector. :cool:
