Sexual Assault

On 03/28/09 at approximately 10:00 AM, a female reported a larceny from her residence in Clement Hall of personal items by three male individuals she had just met. In further investigations today, it has been reported that a sexual assault took place while the suspects were in the victim’s room. The males were described as three white males, between 17 and 19 years of age. They first asked the victim for directions to an off campus location and then offered to provide her a ride home. After riding around for a while, they later went with the victim to her room where the assault took place. The males left the building prior to the victim waking up around 10:00 AM taking several personal items of the victim with them. The suspect’s vehicle was reported to be a green early 1990’s model Chevrolet Cameo and the victim first saw them on Charles Boulevard at the intersection with 11th Street when they stopped to ask for directions to the Tar River area.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the ECU Police Department at 328-6787 or the ECU Police Crime Tip Line at 737-8477. Students are reminded to walk in groups and let others know where they are going and who they will be going with and what time they will return whenever possible. Be careful when meeting new people and mindful of where you may be going with them.

Yeah, she may have had a chance to stop this by not putting herself into such a situation to begin with but not knowing all the details, I am fully confident she could have fended them off if she were allowed to defend herself. Sad that some people still don't understand that carrying a firearm can make all the difference. Thank you once again for a legislature which promotes and fully supports the allowance of rape. :banghead:
